At what age does exuberance of youth still qualify as mitigation? He's 25 according to Wikipedia, which is pushing it IMO.
I try not to judge, but but actually our consciousness Is just a long series of judgements. That's what Matthew McConaghey said on True Detective in one of the episodes before its rubbish finale, anyway.
I take your point about tiresome moralising but it was a stupid, rather oafish thing to do.
