Correct, Applegarth is just a symptom of Carters total lack of knowledge and understanding about rugby league. Because even a very good coach would hzve struggled with this squad. They all tried tonight and gave it their all, but they are just not good enough.

You have to admit, Cas bit the bullet, changed their coach, he targeted a couple of wins, hey presto, SL 2024.

However, a two week break and a massive four pointer turned out to be the perfect time.

I thought he was brought in because he is a top six coach. The problem is we are currently have a Championship squad and a club presently run by the Scrooge brothers. It was obvious everything they did prior to the start of the season would have only one outcome. I suppose MC can now leave knowing he succeeded where many have failed and he will definitely not be forgotten being the man who in our 150th year and 25th season in SL produced a squad and coach that saw us relegated.

Can't argue with any of that. However I would add that Carter albeit useless at running the rugby side of the club has put a significant amount in.and I would thank him for that. The other bloke is just a glory hunter, however he brought us very little glory. Plus he has the audacity to to ask what Ellis will bring. Well Mr Minards, he will bring far more than you pal !

There’s plenty of time now to select the right coach to take us forward. It’s silly things like this that would have trinity continue to decline instead of planning to reinvigorate the club.

It’s a shame the incumbents didn’t adopt this at the start of the season rather than appoint after one day without seeing who wanted the job. I guess they had a job description that only the current coach could match.
