Don't think it was ever in doubt. Don't think the club could have announced anything earlier while the Chester out bregade so vocal.

I have said many times a new coach would be far more demanding.

Tbh if that’s correct Alongst with the news that westerman has gone and we’ve extended 32 year old ashursts contract by 2 years I won’t be renewing my season ticket , unless it comes out Chester is actually paying the club for the priveledge.

What an egotist claiming Westerman signed for Castleford because Chester’s own future was uncertain. He should be subject to the same they give to those players out of contract. go see if anyone else wants you.

If this decision is true he has no consideration for the club because all we have each season is a fight to avoid relegation. We if we are lucky stand still with little sign of advancement, the problem is that it will not take much to see us go the other way.

Complely agree about the comment. Westerman wanted to finish at Castleford that's all there is to it. Was offered more to stay but wasn't a money move. Why Chester feels the need to spout this drivel is quite odd. So when at Hull , Radford said he wasn't worth another deal so came to us. Now Radford is coach at Cas surely by Chesters reckoning he'd have preferred us then.



On the contract never in doubt, too pally with the chairman and cheap and cheerful. Problem for me with Chester he lives in the past and never adapts. Hence the 2 year deal for Ashurst dream team 3 year ago. Now past it. With the rumoured players inbound just going to be another struggle. We needed fresh faces, new ideas , new voices. A massive retrograde step for me.

Keeping Chester ashurst just show Michael Carter’s had enough, it happens and he’s done his best but really can’t see where we go other than more of the same or worse

Must admit I'm a bit cheesed off with this news, not because CC got a new contract but because its going to be more of the same for the next couple of seasons.

MC must back CC with a good transfer chest so his coaching credentials can be shown.

Untimatly it's the fans that are cheated but I'm not sure how the present situation can continue because only the most ardent supporters will offer their support without question.

How can a club recently linked with two high profile players revert back to the norm.

Sorry but the hard up stories just don't cut it anymore and without investment I'm sure many fans will feel the same. Just give the fans some hope take a couple of calculated risks and bring in some signings to be proud of.

I know a barrage of weres the money coming from, unable to afford players contracts and the clubs done well to survive comments will shortly appear but I would say at what cost can the present situation carry on.
