| It seems there will be no segregation next season.
Seem dumb to me, we need to make BV a fortress and create an 'extra' man on the pitch and away fans will
go en masse to the Northstand and once again away fans will make more noise at home then we do
Plus there is the issue of potential crowd trouble again, can we really afford to risk a fine? (which we would surely get if any more trouble happens)
Not a good move IMO

| I'm with you on this. But the "I've stood on this lump of concrete for 60 years" brigade seem to have got their wishes.

| In e last 2 seasons, the two occasions where crowd trouble arose, was when we had segregation
IMO if we want to make the north stand "our own" then just get to the game early and fill it before the away supporters get there, I for one will be back on the western terrace where there are 4 bars food and accessible toilets, plus easy exit from the ground at the end of the game.
Segregation brings with it "Hot Spots" and that is where the trouble starts, without it there are no hot spots, just sporadically distributed idiots that are easier dealt with by both stewards and fans

| I've been going to BV since 1980 and I have to say, from being a young teenager going to games I saw more "trouble" in the 80's than at any other time, I would link "trouble" with on field performance rather than opposition fans, much the same in fannyball, if a team isn't getting the results the supporters expect, then frustration boils over in to violence, recent times have seen wakefield fans less optimistic about results and performances therefore less frustrated and less likely to react, the 2 incidents in the last 2 years (lets put it in to context twice there has been trouble) can be equally apportioned to on field performance, the cas game was built up as "The city is ours" and there was a degree of expectation from wakefield fans thanks to all the pre match hype, the performance didn't reflect the hype and as such trouble boiled over, simarly this season the widnes fans came to BV with the expectation that they had a close game against us at their ground and recent performances from both teams pointed to a widnes win, however their performance was poor and trouble started. In both of these instances the trouble started on the edge of the crowd segregation (hot spots) and the stewards fail=ed to deal with the problem early on.
Therefore remove the hot spots, improve the security and you have a better chance of dealing with incidents, the added bonus is I get to go stand where I would prefer to stand in "Our" ground, rather than being directed to somewhere I would prefer not to stand

| If most fans want to congregate on the Norhtstand, it will become a "home" end anyway.
It may take a couple of seasons but, away fans wont want to stand amongst a strong, noisy group of partisan supporters, just as Wakey fans wouldn't want to stand in the Wheldon Road end at Cas or, the old Threepenny stand at the Boulevard.
If this is what the Trin fans want, then its up to them.
It should be noted that the 2 games where there has been trouble in the ground, have both taken place whilst segregation has been "in force" and on the first instance, the trouble was propagated by the Castleford and Wakefield clubs and yet, at the "million pound game", between the same 2 clubs, with the place packed to the rafters, there was a far better atmosphere and folk could enjoy the game, without risking bottles and whatever else being thrown about.
Of course, there will always be small incidents which need to be dealt with but, if you herd people about like animals, they start to behave like them and ultimately, we all have a personal responsibility to behave properly, no excuses.

| I still prefer the North Stand to be designated for Home fans . As a supporter who goes there alone and stands alone (age 65) I feel more secure there and the atmosphere is amazing. If reverting to as it was before it will become the AWAY end again. Away supporters tend to come earlier and takeover the crash rails etc. The problem is not caused by segregation but by idiots who cannot hold their alcohol.
Please think again - we need the RED, WHITE AND BLUE ARMY noise to help next year, not pockets of sporadic chanting dotted about the ground.

That's my take on things.
I can just see next year being the same old. A few short chants of 'Wakefield Wakefield' coming from little pockets
of the ground lasting 5 seconds a time.
The intense noise from the North Stand will be lost again next season. Which would be a shame IMO.

| SW corner of the WT for the away supporters. Slide the barrier up or down subject to the travelling support. There is segregation at most new sporting venues which broadly pass by without trouble. To blame it on segregation is a little to simplistic.
Either way I'm happy. Segregation has improved the atmosphere at BV no end, no segregation means I can go back and stand in my favoured position.

| In the main i think segregation worked, the problem was it put too many noses out of joint, sadly!
It created the North Stand atmosphere.
The trouble at the Widnes game was not caused by segregation, it was caused by poor stewarding.
Fair enough if the new lot think they can keep a lid on it without segregation most will be happy after all none of us actually want segregation as we aren't yobs, but if someone getts nobbled by one...
