| poor choice to trust you Wakefield oiks
I think one incident of unpleasantness per year is about the going rate really - sad as that sounds. If you get home fans in big numbers it shouldn't really matter, you can still pack the North Stand same as ever should you wish

| ItÅ› very simple if you want to go in the North stand, get there a bit earlier as somebody has already said. Segregation itself can and does cause problems.

| Somebody has stated "none of us want segregation". You just cannot make that assertion. I want segregation for a start and there are plenty of others who do. There were always pockets of trouble (very occasionally) without segregation - maybe easier to calm down I dont know. But as I stated before as a "lone" supporter I feel at home in the company of my fellow supporters (only), with the added bonus of atmosphere, and without rain dripping down my neck if I have to move back to Western Terrace.

| No segregation means no North Stand to me.Agree entirely with 60s Cat.
I am too old to be worrying throughout the game if the group of idiots just to my side are going to 'kick off'.
Will be in the East Stand now on my visits.

The point is that, without segregation, you don't have to move anywhere, although I think that having a "home" stand has improved the atmosphere.
As a former Western Terrace dweller, it will be a difficult decision, whether to move back there next season but, at least its a choice that I can make and not be corralled into a particular spot

| Quote Wildthing="Wildthing"That's my take on things.
I can just see next year being the same old. A few short chants of 'Wakefield Wakefield' coming from little pockets
of the ground lasting 5 seconds a time.
The intense noise from the North Stand will be lost again next season. Which would be a shame IMO.'"
I agree the northstand does make more noise than we have had before at the ground. Its a shame half of it is obscene/swearing chants by a bunch of drunk fans stood at the back. Its almost like been at a football game at times. And this is something that increased since segregation

That'll be me, I'll qualify my point.
I said nobody wants segregation, because in an ideal world we would not need segregating.
I do not believe anyone in their right mind (therefore i discount the yobbish element) goes to a game thinking "great there will be segregation" bud sadly and i think this is what you're getting at (and i agree), there is a yobbish element that attend our games and you are comforted to know that either there is segregation or at least very strong stewarding.
I will rephrase my point In a perfect world nobody wants segregation.

| Quote financialtimes="financialtimes"In e last 2 seasons, the two occasions where crowd trouble arose, was when we had segregation
IMO if we want to make the north stand "our own" then just get to the game early and fill it before the away supporters get there, I for one will be back on the western terrace where there are 4 bars food and accessible toilets, plus easy exit from the ground at the end of the game.
Segregation brings with it "Hot Spots" and that is where the trouble starts, without it there are no hot spots, just sporadically distributed idiots that are easier dealt with by both stewards and fans
'"
This.

I agree with this. It's embarrassing and, in my opinion, brings the club and game in to disrepute. The stewards should step in and stop it.
On the subject of segregation - could it work if the NS were deemed to be the "home end" but the rest of the ground were mixed ie. Trinity fans can go where they want, away fans can go where they want but not in the NS?

| So when an away team gets in the ground first & takes all of the North stand up & the regular week in week out supporters have to stand where they do not want to stand, or have to go into the stand with the away fans, do you not think that this will invoke a possible flashpoint & will require extra stewards to segregate the two sets of supporters ? Surely the stewards are their to proact against any threats rather than reacting to any trouble.

| Don't know if I'm missing something but couldn't we restrict the North Stand to home fans and make the rest of the ground open to all.
