Robbo has added another two years to his contract bringing him up to the end of 2017 that will see him complete 10 years at the giants.

I for one will be pleased his testimonial will be with the giants.

You will always get hard work and commitment from the little pocket Dynamo. A fearless player.

Not a world beater but still a great squad player for us, cracking fella too, will deserve a testimonial too as he's been a great player for us over the years.

My first thought when i saw this was he's done well for himself there with a 3 year deal!



think most of us thought he was abit jaded last year and looking past it, certainly at half back.. so surprised its such a long deal but i suppose if its at the right price.



he is as tough as they come and a great guy to have around the club, sets the standard in training and can bring the youngsters on abit like grix in that sense.



hope to see him at hooker this time with lunt.



hope we can follow up his contract extension with a few of the others that are due... like crabtree and cudjoe

Exactly my thoughts, i suppose if Lunt is going at the end of next year we need an experienced head in there to partner Leeming/Wood.

yep could be planning for lunt leaving at the end of next season and then at least we have robbo to slot in

Has been a great servant and is the bravest player we have. However he has been the weakest link for some time as half back! I'm surprised at the length of the deal.

Really disappointed with this. I can't justify it in any way shape or form. After some good steps forward in the off season this feels like a massive step backward. Three more years of watching him run around like a headless chicken and then throw a hospital pass, great.

I know giving a 2 year extension to a 30 year old who hasn't had a good game for 2 years and isn't even out of contract until the end of 2015. Literally the only reason that I can see for this is that he gets a testimonial at the end of it. Just because he's a decent bloke who is popular in the dressing room. Those are attributes you want in a drinking mate not in a professional sportsman.



It's such an amateur move entirely based on sentiment, we're supposed to be a professional sport.



And people wonder why we can't beat the Aussies and Kiwis.

Anderson must be happy to keep him. For me if used as a hooker he will add real value to the side. Do not think he offers as much at half back but can cause real problems from dummy half and am more than happy with this.

This. I really think with Lunt starting and Robbo the interchange, Robbo can have another lease of life and also take some pressure off Lunt.



I feel not only does he still have value to add on the pitch but also off it. I hear that he gives real support to the likes of Leeming and the 'next generation' which can only benefits those players and therefore the Giants as a whole. Slightly surprised at the length of the deal but delighted he is staying with us.
