For me he is the best ref in the competition and Bentham confirmed this on Saturday when the pressure of a big game allowed him to miss a few simple decisions. Seems as though one Wire fan has got his excuses in already, when in reality he is the best person for the game!

Never. Silverwood's a pudding. I'd much prefer Alibert or Ganson. At least it'll be clean round the ruck.

Not really, he's entitled to an opinion. Silverwood does allow a lot more lying on than most referees and this leads to frustration. Ganson would be the perfect appointment for this game, but he seems to be out of favour at the moment.

I half agree with you re Bentham, but would add that he got no help whatsoever from his TJ's, both of whom are senior referees. Interesting though, that we actually have a poster who rates Alibert, look back 12 months when just about every RLfans poster was ridiculing him. I really do think that he is now developing into a very good referee.

Wigan haven't won in the 2011 Super League Season when Silverpud has officiated.

never in a million years is he the best ref..worst by a mile for me as sunday will no doubt prove again..rather have ganson or jasper alibert,,at least they punish teams for lying on spear tackling or pull teams up for forward passes or even when a player knocks the ball in touch the scrum goes to the opposing team...god help us come sunday..
