Okay then,as it is a religious time of the year - and having read about the top man at Peel Holdings - how about former Man U player Denis Irwin - quiet, unassuming or Roy Keane,he went to NZ and studied coaching and training of the All-Blacks and has been to a few games and [url=http://blogs.bettor.com/Warrington-Wolves-inspirational-session-with-Roy-Keane-sweeps-them-to-victory-over-Wildcats-a109681involved himself in this[/url

As it is just a supporters' meeting, can I ask if anyone there will have any real facts and figures because we're going to need them? There are some really searching questions that need to be asked and, more importantly, answered honestly. I'm not sure if this is the right place to air them, as some may be 'sensitive', but they all pretty much revolve around money and might require a legal brain for some of the answers.

| You really do need to talk to the people who run LISA at Leigh. It's transparent and is only there to pay for players and that is it. It helps the club out no end and without it there would be no Leigh Centurions. The fact that it has clear and simple goals is it's recipe for success. I cannot speak highly enough of the people who run it and it unites the fans. Paying a players wages is the best and most satisfying way for a fan to help. We had all this years ago about directors taking this and money being spent on that. All it did was distance the fans from the board. The way LISA help Leigh is the best way. You pay towards what you see on match day and let the board sort out the rest.

I don't have time to moralise at the moment.
His daughter Jacqeline Gold is [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacqueline_Goldvery rich[/url and no doubt competitive.Would she be prepared to take on a sports club? She will know Karen Brady who was chief executive at BirminghamCity FC and joined that club with her father.
We need to use the female angle. Can Cavendish Street compose an email or contact her ? The good thing is Gold knows Claire Balding, who is sapphic like Cavendish/Louise,and who not only has positive things to say about rugby league will have contact with Robbie Hunter Paul - haven't read his book;hope he is positive about Salford and Ian Millward - believe his father was a director/involved in financing a club in Australia.
The MEN piece you did,I considered circumspect, concise and crucial and I think will need to be used when contacting Gold.[url=http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/sport/rugby_league/s/1596583_fanfare-to-save-salford-reds-from-doomHere[/url

| Living in a fantasy world that one! Yes its good to be positive but you've also got to be realistic and quite honestly some of those suggestions are ridiculous!
As for money raising until the outcome on the 7th jan is known its all a little immaterial as nobody really knows the lie of the land until then. Its too late to do anything prior to that, especially at this time of year, so its probably a case of wait and see how that goes and take it from there. If any significant money is urgently needed before that then a player or two will probably depart, otherwise its sit tight time.

| Great response to the meeting tonight, things were explained as to what is needed first.
The £60,000 WUP is the 1st hurdle we need to get past on 7th Jan & then whatever else is in the pipeline needs negotiating.
Pledges were made of another £2000 in total tonight
Fundraising ideas were put forward, & Paul Highton pledged support from all the players to help in any way they can in the fundraisers.
Thanks to everyone who turned up

| 60k covers the owed wages to patten & anderson but what about HMRC? They are on the same petition aren't they? Surely thats just as, if not more, important. How much is needed to cover that?

| A lot of sense talked about tonight by real fans (Not the Lauders)!!!! But,the rest still seem to accept Baldys way of running a club, stick sentiment and stick how nice he is, the fact that he has killed this club still remains.

| Would be good if we could lose the Wilky lauders/beach boys/doom merchants arguments for a couple of weeks. Getting a bit tedious now.

| It will be an exceptional effort if the 60k is raised but folly to then use it to pay part of the petition. Fine that gets paid but what , as someone has already stated,do you do with the monies owed to HMRC.
Assuming that is then tackled that still leaves a club heavily in debt which in all honesty will be looking at a similar situation in the near future.
Sentiment set aside, any monies raised would be better channelled into the formation of a totally debt free club. This may prove painful as there will be consequences from the RL but at least your elected board can work within around what the RL may do.

It was stated last night that HMRC have withdrawn their name from the Winding-up petition, leaving just Anderson and Patten who are owed about £58 - £60k which is due to them as part of their salary. It seems that some overseas players are paid some of their salaries into an overseas account for tax reasons and this money is then paid to them when they reach the end of their contracts - not that Patten did!
So at the moment the first hurdle is easier to clear.
