How come it doesn't feel like the grand final this weekend? Been around majority of the boards today and there is barely any mention of it on most of them, including on here which is usually grand final buzzing the day before.



How are ticket sales going? I've not heard anything and not much marketing about the final, are the RFL becoming even more complacent with their marketing?



Or are the general rugby league public fed up of saints vs leeds?



Personally I am delighted about the final, for me it proves rugby league as a sport is moving forward with different teams winning the trophies, wigan winning the cc, warrington league leaders and either saints or leeds winning the gf!



Or are fans just falling out of love with the game except from their own club? After all I think the last two finals I've been to last years gf and this years cc have seen far less neutrals than in recent years.

It's because your team isn't in it and everyone in the town has gone into hiding until the events of Saturday are over.



Feels very much like Grand Final weekend where I am. I'm sure the attendance will be 50k+

As of 2pm today I have been told arouncd 59,000 tickets had been sold so it should be somewhere near the attendance for 2009

The grand final is a game that declares a team champions and the right to declare themselfs the best team in SL. But if we had a poll to see who we think are the best team the votes would probley go against saints and Leeds for top spot. That mindset for me makes this game... Just a game.

Yep, the Champions should be decided by a poll.



If a poll on here were done then Leigh & Widnes would come out on top.

Why don't you ask Wire fans if they felt like the best team in the league last Friday.

It's 4.30am and I'm wide awake, watching a replay of the semi final win v's Wigan...Feels like a grand final to me!! (Just hope we can have a year without the silent car journey home and the feeling of having your nuts ripped out through your throat!!)

It may be that a lot ofneutral fans are skint and can't afford to go, they perhaps would have if their team was there.

I think it's the fact that the media were bigging it up for a Wigan v Warrington final for most of the season. Now that it's a suprising Leeds v Saints, for a few days the media was all about why Wigan and Wire didn,t make it. Also the last few days we are having the rah rah world cup negating the building up to the grand final.

I would be impressed if there were 65 000 fans there today if you consider the factors of the recession, poor marketing, rah rah word cup etc

I think the game will be a cracker. The good thing about it is there isn't a real favourite in my mind. If Wire had beat Leeds they'd be huge favourites and if Wigan had beat Saints we'd have been favourites against Leeds but with both losing it's blown it wide open.



I'm obviously gutted Wigan didn't make it but i'm looking forward to sitting at Old Trafford as a nuetral and watching a good game without being a bag of nerves.

Living in Wigan, when Wigan are not in a final, usually most people are buzzing for Wembley and Old Trafford no matters who's there. Eveyone's normally asking each other where you watching the game and who do you want to win, but for some reason this years playoffs have just not took off even though Wire v Leeds was a blinder. Strange one.
