But the Catalan player made a deliberate effort to close the kick down by chasing the kicker. Surely that action means that he tried to affect the play



I'm sure Sa would have got the plaudits if he had chased the kick down and the ball had stayed in play and he's have re-gathered and scored... like any other charge down

sa didn't make a play at the ball, it hit his backside, it doesn't matter if another catalan player tried to chase down the kicker, bentham got it wrong, should've been head and feed to the dragons

He keeps on running forwards and turns his back and the ball hits him on the ar$e.

Bentham got it wrong.

I don't think Bentham had the best of games, but the OP isn't an example of this.



I thought Bentham wasn't very sharp on picking up some issues at the pay of the balls. It seemed that Cas were allowed to lay on and sometimes have a second dig in the tackle a fair few times. Also that penalty against Catalans for taking out Chase after a grubber close to the line towards the end of the match was a bit harsh.



The scrum five seconds from time was a farce. Bentham should really have let the clock down. But, then again Clarke did have a point saying Bentham should penalise Catalans for messing with the numbers in the scrum.
