Seem to have an agenda, letting everyone and his dog have a go at the efforts being made by the club and its supporters. First by Caisley in person, then one of our elected "members" and now some bloke of Dinner Ladies. Got to add that the Radio Leeds coverage particularly the "Drive Time" show on Tuesday was equally as guilty, they seemed to be amazed that the £500,000 pledge being met, the fans were then been asked convert their pledges into donations. They seemed very annoyed that within 10mins of the announcement that there was nobody from the club available to comment / live debate. Strange.

Well it took them until Wednesday to even report that the pledge had been met. It seems that the T&A is very much pro-Caisley, probably because if you can bring yourself to read the vitriolic and frankly inane comments that the majority of people leave on T&A stories it seems that that's the way their readership is leaning. Fair and balanced press be damned! There's papers to be sold and time to be saved by only printing half the story

I commented on their low key coverage of pledge being reached compared with the front page coverage being given to caisley and sutcliffe etc yesterday morning. comment was on website for 20 minutes or so until I guess the editors saw it and it promptly disappeared. what happened to unbiased reporting?. |

As a neutral I was deeply moved by Duncan Preston's comments. Though they did miss a line off after his final quote:

Possibly, I guess if nobody's in touch with them on a daily basis they'll run something by the opposition, even if it is involving a minor soap actor.
The article is a bit poor, Preston comes over as ill informed. Nobody on here can claim to know everything that's going on up at Odsal but most of us seem to have a better idea than him. Sounds like Caisley's sent him to the T&A with an agenda.

A person who i know and trust who does a lot of good work for the club told me on Friday that Ross Heptinstall(sp) was in daily contact with Mr Caisley. This might explain the some of the biased reporting.

Well it depends if we're in touch every day too. If not then they're going to run the opposition line especially if it's a story that sells papers. TBH Duncan Preston isn't a big hitter and his ramblings aren't going to change the opinions of anyone.
However I would like to see the T&A seek a comment from the club. |

Newspapers are just dead trees these days, certainly at a local level. Most titles are on their backsides.
The T&A is becoming less relevant in this city so I wouldn't worry about their reporting too much.

They're still an opinion former and their habitual lying and selective editing on all manner of issues affecting the city is a major cause for concern.
I won't mourn their passing if and when they finally go under.
