| I thought our last quota spot was used by orford?? but obviously not according to this........................
Quote THE manager of former Titans winger Chris Walker is adamant his client is still England-bound despite the Bradford Bulls filling their overseas player quota by signing Manly halfback Matt Orford.'"

Was it Inu?

Can't say I'm surprised - the club is a complete farce at times. Surely they should of thought about this.
How about (to get around it), we sign him anyway for three years, loan him out to Crusaders for a year and then he can come back to us in a years time when Menzies retires and Nero comes off the quota?
Win, win all around (apart for Walker maybe)?

| Well, sh*t a brick if it turns out they've signed a contract with Walker.
Stupidity on an effing monumental scale if that's the case. They'd have to buy him out would they not?

| Wouldn't the agent say 'We have a signed contract' if one existed?
My guess is that there was an understanding but nothing binding. Could the agent be making a noise to keep his client happy, while knowing that there is little chance of anything actually happening?

Sounds like they never actually signed him. Silly Mr Walker, that's why you need to sign a contract, it not only protects the club, it protects you.

| Suggest keep powder dry on this until we hear both sides, and the club's take? So far we only have Walker's side as reported in the notoriously sensational Oz media.
But its one hell of a big barrel of powder waiting to go off if go off it transpires that Walker's version of events wins out.

By the way, for anyone who's unsure why he had the nickname of "Walkout":
www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/09/ ... m=storyrhs
Quote WalkoutYet even some of Walker's teammates find it hard to accept his decision to walk out mid-season on wooden-spooners South Sydney and join the defending titleholders.'"
If (and it's a big [i[uIF[/u[/i) Walker ends up playing next season (or 2011 etc) as a Bull, I will support him because he's a Bull, but only for that reason. It was a despicable action, and to me demonstrates his contempt for the sanctity of a contract. Would give me a tremendous amount of satisfaction to see him get a decent serve of Karma.

| If there is a signed on both sides contract then were in trouble , but im guessing that it might of been signed on our side and not on theres and until its signed on both sides , then either party can back out. Guess we need some clarification from Mr Hood, but as only a few weeks ago he said that there was no deal with walker, im not expecting much.
