Under British employment law until the contract is signed by both parties you have no grounds for greivance. I once resigned from my job after accepting a position at another company two weeks into my notice period of four weeks I was told that the new position was no longer available and that was that. Wasted time at Citizens Advice and had to go crawling back to my then current employer who luckily hadn't filled the position. I was actually there for another 18 months but it wasn;t nice. Similarly we've offered people jobs and found out a week before they are due to start that they've decided not to take the job. Not only that if he hasn't signed a contract he hasn't got a sponsor and can't get a visa can he?



Either the Bulls have been very stupid and will end up with Rob Burrow's dad sniffing at their crotch like Cas or Nero's leaving or Walker's agent has fouled up and is trying to cover his back.

I think they should just keep quiet and resolve this in an adult way.

Suspect if his argument DID win out (pray that it does not...) then his agent will more likely seek damages for breach of contract than to enforce specific performance of the contract. The wording in the report sort of suggests that "...until Chris Walker's situation is resolved I can't see how they can sign Matt Orford..." and anyway, would you want to play for a club who did not ultimately want you?



But lets hope there is no contract and this goes no further.



the wording of the report also SUGGESTS he actually signed a contract with us in AUGUST - although that might be clever wording, and he might have rejected a Titans contract in August "...to sign for Bradford" rather than "...and signed for Bradford".



But its all speculation right now.

Now I understand what Macca meant when he said he had a few balls in the air. Sounds like the balls were multiple contracts being sent to Australasia. Now I just hope we avoid a big balls-up!

When I read this yesterday I had the sneaking feeling that it might lead to more contract related trouble. Have Bradford learnt anything from the Harris saga? It looks like the Bulls are desperate to sign 'marquee' players, presumably to draw in the punter as well as improve the quality on the field. That said I'd be surprised if this amounts to anything more than a storm in a teacup.
