Are Wigan chokers?



I remember up until 2004 and even 05, 06 and the first part of 07, and again around the Cup until last year, Wigan loved to say that about us.

Totally agree. I was thinking though that it'd be good to get a perspective on the mentality that Leeds had this year to win big games from Wigan fans, and whether or not the Wigan team of 15 had it. Personally I think Clark was talking a load of cobblers. But in 03 I think Leeds Believe promo had a lot to do with the success in 04. Tackling the choker tag head on.

Choking implies losing big games that you really should be winning, or failing to perform on the big stage.

True. Clark said it before the final though. It seemed to me when I read before the Final it was an astonishing thing to say about this Wigan team.

The reaction of their mods was fairly predictable, especially as the first and second to reply, missed your point and took it as a trolling. To be fair you could have made it clearer that you didn't share the view and that it came from Phil Clarke. But then I suspect that you were enjoying tweaking them a bit as well

As a relative newbie poster is it not advisable to venture onto the Wigan forum and have constructive discussions and ones that often don't portray their club in the best way?

Their Mods have a very low trolling threshold and lock threads at the drop of a hat. I've Never run foul of them myself but I don't post on their that often. Give it a go if you have something to add over there, they're generally decent enough types, similar to here just with the misfortune to have been born on't wrong side of the hill.

You can't engage them unless what you're saying is or has a hint of pro wigan.

I'd been a member of the forum only 2 or 3 weeks before they banned me, the mods are a right set of losers. I've had plenty of run ins on other teams forums but they all accept your input unless it's way beyond reasonable boundaries. In short, the Wigan mods are sad little Hitler spotty virgins wielding the only bit of power they will ever have.

They had a Sam Burgess thread on their forum yesterday. I made a comment about why if he came to SL Leeds would be an obvious choice. The whole thread was then deleted.
