I think the real Southstander is coming back.





You know the one "sack the coach, get rid of the players" etc etc?







It's took a long time in the offing, and but I think it's going to really return to it's glorious days.



The previous Southstander was a breath of fresh air with some glorious moments on the field, but welcome back the real Southstander, after nearly a decade of putting your feet up, you seem to have got back in the swing of things pretty quickly........... you've been missed.

I agree, I can't believe how empty some peoples lives must be without a rugby league team to moan about or make lists about, its 80 minutes of entertainment, no more than that, its not your whole life, no really, its not.

If this forum had the facility to "like" certain posts, I would "like" this one.



Excellent observation with one minor flaw. We've had Southstander since 2004 but it's now the return of substandard.com

How on earth did we relieve the tedium of our grim humdrum existences before Southstander?

Ah, but will we get back to the days when that sad little gaggle of numpties who formed an obnoxious clique, and regularly spat their collective dummies when anyone voiced a seperate, and possibly better informed opinion?



That was fun then.



Sadly, we are reduced in these straitened times to a rehash of "Substander" or "Know nowt s," as the insult of choice from the few remaining old soldiers of the Pompous Brigade.

I also remember that pompous southstander clique. It was an amalgam of lofty patrons of the FAE, several player sponsors, a handful of the cufflinked brigade who liked to be seen flashing the cash at pompous £200-a-head club functions as they munched their way through banoffee pies or crème brûlées whilst bidding on shirts and memorabilia, a collective of local lap-dancing club members, a few y Lost Loiners and Gilder. Several disappeared as their rhinos patronage was considered irrelevant once the club entered a period of success demanding bigger sponsorship deals, so some jumped aboard the Catalan bandwagon to become French fancying dilettantes.

Not sure which category I fall into but there's plenty that I don't.

Speaking of blast from the past, although never part of the clique. Does anyone know whatver happened to Oslorhino?
