Quote E.S.O="E.S.O"We don't have a single quota player as far as I know.
We have a massive three players born outside of the UK, but are all signed to Sheffield Eagles.
How does it feel to be the feeder team of someone else? Serious question.
You can't be happy with the way your club is being used at the moment? Warrington reserves?
Never really had an issue with Swinton but if I could choose one team to get relegated it'd be you, because the whole dual reg farce is making a mockery of the competition, and Swinton are by far the biggest offenders.'"
Swinton didn't invent dual reg nor have they broke any rules, Hunslet have used Dual Reg just as we have, so have Leigh.
Am I happy about it well let's look at the harsh realities we don't run a reserve team so have no way of bringing on our own talent in which case we have to look at fringe players from other clubs or those who just want to move on aka Tom Armstrong who you got from us. The link with Warrington offered Swinton enhanced training facilities and access to other areas of sport such as conditioning coaches, performance analysis non of which are available on crowds of 400 - 500., we would have been stupid to turn down that offer which of course came at a price of offering Warrington somewhere for them to develop their young talent. Yes we have used Adrain Morley, Lee Briars and Paul Wood this season but are you telling me that if those players were offered to any of the lower teams and indeed the teams in the higher half of the table they would turn them down...I doubt it. Yet nothing is said when Hunslet include Richard Moore and Whitehaven Adi Gardner.
Trust me i'd like nothing better than to get back to the days when all teams ran an A-Team and supplemented their squad from those ranks but sadly RL isn't like that anymore it sold it's soul to Sky and Super League.
You and others can have their opinion about Swinton but remember I didn't ever see the RL actively trying to save us when we hit hard times back in the 80's loosing our ground etc.......their was no search for a Rich benefactor then as was the case recently with Salford Bradford and will be the case if Castleford hit the buffers. Other clubs have been allowed to die, just look at Blackpool and Bramley all because they fall outside of the Super League remit. So if it means we link with Warrington and their players play a part in keeping us in this division then for now I can live with it.
