| Quote Geoff Tipps="Geoff Tipps"I think this may be an astute signing by Tim Sheens .....Given the fact that Sheens has strength in depth regarding outside backs and that he is willing to trial players in different positions (Abdull at centre and Salter in the second-row for example) ......Maybe Sheens has decided to sign Carney to utilise his power, strength and speed in other positions ......A possible full-back maybe, or a second-row forward ......As a full-back or second-row forward, Carney would have more involvement in a game then he would have playing on the wing ......Maybe this proposition from Sheens is what tempted Carney away from a top side riding high in the Super League and to sign for a Championship side for the rest of this season and 2018? ......A new position and a new start with a seasoned coach respected throughout the game and with a club that is too good for the Championship was maybe the impetus for Carney to sign for us so he could home his skills in a new position and start all over again.
Given our injuries regarding our back-row forwards (Greenwood, Donaldson, Addy and Horne), personally, I would love to see Carney in the second-row and running hard at the defensive line on our flanks ......He has the potential to be our new Clint!'"
So Sheens "the Messiah" has a team (despite having no serious completion) is so shallow and ravaged with injuries you have to sign a racist, serving a long ban sacked by the team you lost a MPG to less than a year ago??!
Impressive!

| Quality like Carney will not have come cheap.
It's good to see the club commit beyond 2017.
Almost as if they know something we don't.

Carney is no Clint Newton. On any level. Never will be. I find the comparison on a playing and other levels embarrassing.

| He knows it's his last chance and he knows Tim won't take any sh*t, I believe Tim has made a shrewd move and I wouldn't be surprised to see him used differently.

| I'd like the club to put a frank interview with him on HKRtv. It could be our version of the Jeremy Kyle show.

This guy will turn out to be a great move I do not think for one minuet that Sheens will not no what he is about he will become good for us no matter were he plays him and with him still banned he can try him in different positions in training

| Carney's usual position is left wing, so outside Minns. Does this mean Tim has lost patients with Moss and he is been moved ? (replacing Quinlan)
This leaves us with the option of only signing players with a British (or European) passport unless someone is leaving. (Quinlan)
A big marauding British forward to bolster the pack will certainly narrow our options. Unless there's a Burgess looking for a new gig ?

Right then East Stand, can everyone who has called Webster a ginger , or questioned Steve Ganson's parentage, told Radford he has bad teeth or mentioned Burrows height please leave now, we are a family club.
I am not condorning Carney''s behaviour in any way, but rugby players are not P.C. do not have to pass a DBS to play and sometimes aren't the kind of people you would want your daughter to marry. But this is sometimes what makes them fans favorites. If we only signed players who had socially acceptable morals we wouldn't be looking to get back into SL.

| Paul Rowley's opinion of Carney
“It’s a reactive thing,” he added. “I don’t think for one minute that Justin Carney is a racist. He’s got a black father so he’s not racist. Ryan Bailey knows him. There’s no drama there. So whilst we won’t defend him, we certainly won’t condemn him either. We’d rather support (him) and find out if there’s a deep-rooted problem that made him react in that manner.

Astute signing!!! A super league standard winger with a great tries to games ratio option to play in the 2nd tier as it burned more bridges than Kelly's Heros!
Even with the season nearly half the way through, and 5 games of a ban to serve, he should end up the Championships top try scorer providing you can keep him on the pitch and keep his mouth shut!
I am not here to deride his past, I am all for second chances.
But you have to question Hudgel's ethics on this.

| When it looked possible he was signing for FC there was a similar thread with similar views.Dont see it as Hudgell doing anything other than backing Sheens,If he attracts anymore bad publicity whilst with us then the blame lies with player and coach. As a fan I'm more worried about his yellow and red card collection,a brain fart in a big game we can't afford
