I think our best option is to look for a championship player who would be able to make the step up or try to find an eager young Aussie/Kiwi on the fringe or the NRL who would be classed as club trained if they start their first grade career here (like Lovegrove did). Gleeson just seems to be a gamble that did not pay off. On the plus side Salter has been a real gem of a find & lets hope we can unearth another like him.

Because he isn't good enough for Super League.
He will of been looked at by the lower half teams I reckon and the fact he is still playing at Championship level speaks volumes. |

Just my opinion mate.
There is a world of difference between having one good game against an out of sorts Rovers to being a consistant SL performer.
Mick Nanyn was a powerhouse centre at that level but also wasn't good enough when taking the step up.
Who knows,if he has a good world cup then he may get his chance but not good enough from what I've seen of him. |
