Well todays game finally puts to this season out of its misery. 1 meaningless game left.



With what looks like a whole new set of backs coming in (and not too soon I might add) will things improve?



I honestly think it might, but that depends on what is going to hapoen with Trav (got used to the idea of him going now) and hoping Keating and Welham will be shown the door.



That stated, others have previously mentioned that Keating has a lack runners when running across offering the ball. Will new backs help this (even though his kicking is dodgy)?



Lots of questions, no answers. Just glad I don't have to force myself to watch this drivel again. At least for 5 months anyway when I ignore all logic and renew my season pass.

Its been a shocker that's for sure. How next year will turn out may depend on how we recruit a 6 & 9.



The 3/4's should be better but they need service.

I don't think the last game is a meaningless game, alas we cannot make the play offs, however defeat and other results could see us fall to 12th position.



As for 2015, I'm sure it will be exactly the same as 2014... promise a lot... deliver not very much... and then be talking about 2016 in June.

Just had a look at our performances against teams that IMO we should / need to beating consistently and definitely need to improve on in 2015.

Taking the top 5 (STS, WIG, LEEDS, WIRE & HUDDS), out of the equation and only results against each other, this would be how the league would look.

Results against these teams is simply not good enough and needs to be significantly better to have any chance in 2015 of making the top 8.

Unless we can get some passion back in the team and pride in the shirts 2015 is going to be another long season!



But we need to give Chris Chester and Willie Poaching the off season and let them try to change the mentality of the players and allow the lads coming in time to settle before we get too depressed, with a new look back line and time to put his stamp on the squad I think we will come good.



Maybe I am the eternal optimist, and this will come back to bite me, but I think we will at least be more competitive next year! and I do think in 2015 we will make the top 8!

Thankfully, chessie has already established the biggest problem - attitude and culture. If he can get buy in from the team then top 8 is massively realistic as the core group of players are good enough, but need the mental coaching to want to achieve which is the coaches main challenge. As mentioned, a lot depends on 6 & 9 recruitment. If we can replace travis and get 100k for him I would and put all the money into a good 9, I genuinely believe burns is detrimental to the teams performance and specifically keatings performance. Our hookers do not like to pass elsewhere incase burns gives them a rocket to start with. Excellent player on form, slightly maverick, but I believe as much of a hindrance compared to enhancer to the squad.

I was going to say the same thing about Burns. For all his great attributes and flair he has no structure to his play and I do believe its at a detriment to a team performance.

Im new to this and usually just browse but I have heard we are signing a 17 year old hooker from hull FC who has represented England youth,any ideas?could be same as hodgson I hope

If thats true I'd be surprised, FC need a hooker themselves to back up Houghton. Sure its not an ex FC player who represented England youth ie Tommy Lee.

No he plays for hull 19s now and is only 17,,that's all I know
