Stan, I assume you mean Josh hodgson and I dont think he has what it takes to be captain, let him play rugby without the added pressure of being captain, same goes for Rhys for me too.

It's hard to see passed Dobson. Maybe with somebody helping out with the clapping-and-shouting part of the role.

I went to write 'past', but it seemed rubbish. The pub is past the shops, I can see. But it is 'I passed the shops to reach the pub'. I guess it is the sense of 'beyond', rather than 'around' or 'through'. Anyway you're right, I'm wrong - first time for everything.

I agree with Obergruppenführer Mild Rover, a shouting and clapping contest should be held and whoever wins to be made El Capitano and forced to wear a beret and grow a big beard.

For me Dobson should be the organiser on the field adjusting the plays as he see's the game at the time, the captain should be the person to sort out discipline on & off the field dealing with the ref, the coach & the board. To give Dobson both rolls would (in my opinion) put to much on his shoulders. I think most clubs have a senior group to represent the team, our trouble is the number of changes that are happening. A stand out candidate may emerge in pre season.
