I think everyone is missing the point. If we want to build from youngsters, this is one we don't want to let go. We need to find out why he wants to leave and try and sort it out or else we'll end up like Cas.

Forget compensation, just refuse his request and then if someone comes forward they pay a transfer fee. That's the system, if sulky Watts doesn't like that, tough, nobody forced him to sign a contract. Year and a bit left on his deal, so a hefty fee should be ours. It's hard to say how much he would command, using Westerman as a calibrator, Watts would be worth £1,000,000!

TBH I wasn't very clear when I used the word compensation but this was what I meant.

If someone wants him they pay for him although we should also put a complaint into the RFL asking how a legally signed player with over a year left on his deal has clearly got the impression he has a deal waiting for him elsewhere.
