If Dennis has been restricted to cash flow I don't know, but one things for sure it takes a very special coach to stop the rot !

A coach with good credentials will attract better players.What has Betts achieved in coaching?Rugby Union pay more and if he was that good of a defensive coach he would have stayed at Gloucester.

I think Wakefield were in a far worse position to prepare for this season. Widnes had a good 2 month extra preparation than us, that’s a hell of a long time extra when it comes to recruitment. In fact come franchise decision day I think we were more prepared for playing out the following season for the Championship.

you'd be better off without need a top british coach like noble or daryl powell and give time to build a team or you could do what every club does lately and appoint some aussie nobody's heard of and have a matt parish situation lol

The only thing is if Betts stays there won't be any recruitment.

Should Noble come in he'd insist that Cullen goes and he does his own recruitment.

Widnes won't be anywhere near the salary cap limit so hiring a few players should be quite easy, provided they are available.

Or someone like Justin Morgan who did wonders for us at HKR and turned us from a NL side to a side thats regulary competing in the playoffs; and now moving on up and hoping to break into the top 5.

Justin morgan would also be a good shout but a good british coach should be given an opportunity

Noble,Powell, the sheffield coach Mark Aston should get a chance but i would hope a club in SL should give a coach the build his team

Only 3 games into a 3 year licence. Brand new to the comp, quite a few new players with lots of injuries. If you were a top 4 team I would be concerned but I think he needs to be given a fair chance

If Noble did come in he would be doing his own recruitment and Cullen would still be there.



Noble didn't apply for the job last time around but it had nothing to do with the off field structure. He was angling for a job in Australia at the end of the season that never came about.

Any coach coming into Widnes is responsible for identifying players, training and selecting first team players.

I don't really like playing this game but the one man that matches our ambitions and has the tools to deliver is Powell.

He is very (and rightly so) committed to Featherstone though.



I'm still waiting to see what can be done between now and the London game. Betts has a challenge I really hope he has the mettle for it. I want the guy to do well.

He be a good call and i think he would do well at Widnes.Betts out of his depth in my opinion.

You have a squad just as capable of competing as us Leythers did in our one season in what was then Superleague (non relegation league now of course).



Your club may as well wait till the end of the season and save the money' then if you want to get anywhere go for Millward.

I know what you're saying but its not just the win/loss record people are worried about, its the manner of the defeats. Wakey 2nd half 5 tries to 1 and the Widnes 1 was a bit of a fluke off a charge down. Against Huddersfield we conceed 12 tries including 5 tries in the 1st 25 minutes = game over already. People tried to dismiss this defeat because it was huddersfield, but against Salford, it was more of the same and the game was over by half time 6 tries to Salford 32 - 6 down. From half time against Wakey to half time against Salford we conceeded 22 tries in 160 minutes = a try against every 7 minutes. Its not far off a point a minute.



No-one expects us to get the results against the sides challenging for the top, but we do expect us to at least resemble a SL side. At the moment its 50-50 as to whether we're any better than the top Championship sides. A decent coach would at least come in and get us organised and playing to some sort of gameplan. The way we're playing at the moment you'd either think that we didn't have a coach or that the coach didn't have clue what he was doing. I would like to think that at the very least a coach like Kear or Harrison would get get us playing with a bit of passion - which strangely seems to be missing. You would think that a brand new team in SL would be out to prove a point and play with 100% commitment. Against Huddersfield and and Salford Personally I think we have been beaten before a ball was kicked.
