All the top halves have contracts so we can't go out and sign a replacement for Horne or Long now, we can only bring in cover.

People won't be convinced, they think all the top Aussie players are sat by their phone waiting for the super league to call.

TBH i can't see anyone worth having who would be prepared to fly round the world to be 'cover'. Like you said earlier it would be better to find someone from the NL's and try to develop them. With full-time training there may just be a couple of hidden gems out there.

If the HDM article is accurate I would have thought that the comment regarding the half back having "significant NRL experiance" would rule out Herbert as a target, as he has very little. I'm with you Paul I would rather us take a punt on a young British player like Briggs or Moore.
