cant see it happening, football chairmen are far too greedy, their most money spinning time of the year is the boxing day-new year fixtures

I can't see the Challenge Cup and the Grand Final being a problem as they are both played during the football season currently so nothing would change.



I think this is a very long time in the coming even if it does at all. We cope in Feb/April & Aug/Sept so with good ground staff we should be ok.

if anything the pitch would have a off season for once.

I remember Hunslet playing at Ellend Road for a few seasons when it was winter RL , can't recall the effects on the pitch though.

Indeed, at the time of year it could really do with it too.

at least he had plenty of spare time to get the fishing rods out.

think its a good idea, especially for the kids leagues, lost count of the games called off in recent years for my lads team due to frozen and water logged pitches, be a whole lot more pleasent watching as well, been a massive sucsess in youth RL moving to summer, should do the same in football. long over due imo.
