| Quote Mr. Zucchini Head="Mr. Zucchini Head"It's far from "unbreakable." I reckon Warrington, Wigan and Saints are shoe ins for top 4. The rest is up for grabs imo. Leeds are in decline, Hudds are nothing special, Catalans look good but are poor away. I predict 7th, but with a good start and a bit of luck there's no reason we can't do better than that.'"
I still thinks Leeds have quality all over the park plus with players like Sutcliffe waiting in the wings, they are still seriously strong.
Shudds had a lot of injuries to key players last season for long periods, more of the same and they could slip down a bit but outside the top 6/7 I doubt.
Catalan have added quality, plus pack leader Casty is back, should have no problems making the top 8 and for me will finish in the top 6.
So there is your 4th, 5th and 6th for me. Can Rovers break into that, at the mo, no. Add in another good prop and quality hooker, then I'm hopeful.

| I think we could break the top 6, Cas did it last year and there squad wasn't amazing. Top 4 is a no chance for me,
Really hard to predict for us and I wouldn't be surprised if we finished anywhere from 6th-10th.

| I don't think there has ever been a final league table where the standings are in the same club order as their quality 'on-paper', if you get me(?). Things happen - even the very best of teams can lose form/confidence, be decimated by injuries, or have other distractions going on. There's always a couple of surprises basically. Then there's what Cas did last year, nobody expected that.
Looking through the squads, there isn't a weak side in the competition. Consistency is key for FC, we proved when we're playing well we can mix it with the top teams, it's just those games are too infrequent.
Being in the Top 8 after 23 rounds is the very minimum for us, hard to predict where we'll actualy end up.

| We need to be realistic here.
Top 8 would be a considerable improvement on last season. Its also probably everyone's (including AP's) mininum requirement.
A 6th place finish would mean real progress.
Lets not have any silly talk of top 4 please.

| I'm hoping we finish in the top 8 as not doing so has massive implications for the future of the club IMO. I think clubs who will definitely finish above us are
wigan
saints
wire
leeds
les cats
hudds
We're in the mix with
cas
rovers
salford
and possibly widnes although I'm far from convinced about them
For a top 8 finish
I don't think wakefield have a chance of the 8
A lot of it will depend on all teams keeping key players fit but we need to be performing near to the top of our capabilities from week one and I just don't think radford is capable of getting the team to do it.
I really hope I'm wrong but next season could be a disaster for us

| I want to see commitment, a team wanting to play for each other and trying 100% of the time.
Anything else would be a bonus as I for one are sick of seeing teams wearing the famous black n white irregular hoops not turning up for matches. Clearly we need to be at least in the top eight anything else could prove a disaster for our long term future.

Its funny to think that some of us think 6th would mean real progress when the previous coach was sacked getting us to 6th including an horrendous injury list to contend with, and also getting the club to Wembley.
I am going to leave any criticism or praise of Radford until I have seen the first 6 matches.
I certainly don't think we are a strong side that clubs will fear playing either home or away but it will certainly be an interesting season given the new format.
We need our props to turn up each week and if they do lay us a platform then we could surprise a few of the top teams.Realistic finish though 7th or 8th
My tips watch out for Warrington and Catalan and expect Salford to be much more competitive.

I don't think there were many games last season when that wasn't the case, possibly the Wigan defeat. The last time I saw a clear indication of the opposite was the Hudds play off game in 2013.
What we need as well as 100% commitment is a higher level of playing talent. Someone on another thread talks about us not contesting at the top since 2007. That is correct - and since 2007 we've had a number of coaches but the one constant theme has been a declining level of playing talent. The biggest disappointment of Pearson's reign has been that this wasn't addressed for the first two years and in fact the policy was continued and at a high price as well.
I'm hoping that we look like a team with better players in it come April/May next year. If we do then we will contest. If we don't then further declining gates will soon follow.

Widnes at home when we didn't look like we believed we could overturn a 7 point deficit, Wakey at home when having been cruising we just stopped playing and Bradford away.

Neither of those defeats were due to lack of effort or commitment. Just a combination of poor execution and poor individual errors from players failing to reach the required standard.
