Crusaders are a special case and like it or not, we all know it. For the RFL to get the money from sky that they do, expansion clubs such as Crusaders have to exist. So even if it's hard to stomach, it's in every other clubs interest for the RFL to help them to survive. Wakey bring very little to the table other than tradition.

It is not hard for me to stomach, a team has to go down as long as it is not Hull FC I do not particularly care...You posted Wakey deserve to go down because you felt they cheated, I highlighted in that case so did Crusaders.

And I agreed with you but pointed out that it's not a level playing field? Sorry if you took it the wrong way, it was aimed at the Wakey fans who come out with stuff like that when they know full well it's irrelevant.

Not enough clubs with sufficient turnover to spend at or near the cap meant league places were pretty static. In a misguided (IMO) attempt to 'level the playing field' they scrapped the 50% rule so that any club could spend full cap if they wanted to. Barking mad given the previous history of clubs spending themselves into oblivion.

And inaccurate. Neither Wakey nor Crusaders have broken any RFL rules.

I meant signing players/agreeing contracts when they knew the money wasn't there to fulfill them. It might not be against the RFL rules but it's cheating the players involved and every other club in the league who are only signing players befitting their means.

Every club in the game that makes a loss is effectively doing the same. That's most of them. Wakey ran out of the Directors Loans that prop up the other loss-making clubs and Crusaders struggled with debts inherited from the previous owner. The difference between them and the others is essentially scale and timing.

I know most teams have debt that's underwritten and Wakey probably won't be the last to go through this. But presently at least, the other clubs have met the expenditure that they have taken on and Wakey haven't. Thus Wakey have gained an unfair advantage IMO.
