I was down in Hullard Corner and he didn't get anything more than a "Who are ye?" chant. When he bombed a potential try that would have won it for Leeds the tone of the cheering/laughing would have been quite hurtful but he was applauded at the end.



I don't think any player should feel comfortable coming to our ground, especially an ex-player. As long as the stick they get isn't inappropriate and is suitably ... [ifamily friendly [/ithen we should keep it as part of the game.

Briscoe got booed and there might have been isolated comments but certainly no "group vitriol" so to speak. Maybe McDermott's boss told him to have a dig since AP regularly lets the world know what he thinks of him. Totally unnecessary title tattle by the Leeds coach which has shown him up to be a tad pathetic.

I'd lay £10,000 that it wouldn't have even got a mention if they hadn't lost!

To be fair to McDermott he's usually very curtious in defeat and gives more credit than most coaches do to the opposition, so this rant is slightly out of charachter for him. Having said that he should just shut up about the fans and concentrate on getting his team in order.

I sit in the middle of the East Stand about half way up and it was abuse coming from behind me, and it didn't sound like a few. Greedy Greedy B***ard and Lying Lying B**ard is not part of the game.

It was embarrassing and should not be condoned. The guy played well for us saw out his contract and did nothing wrong.

On and off the field, the sport has been sanitised to the point of tedium. The way that we can have all this ridiculous knee-jerkery to a bit of abuse at an ex player makes me sick. People going to defend the match officials when they get booed next?



If we want a genuine home advantage, then we have to act partisan. If you want the mundane, quiet bore-athons, that the opposition enjoy coming to play at - then carry on whingeing, you set of girls!

It certainly couldn't be heard where I was in the ground - so hardly like the rousing choruses of Old Faithfu[size=150L[/size that were heard that night.

I'm sure if you have the mentality to play pro rugby league to such a high standard and as consistently as Tom has you can take a few chants and boos.

I'm going to give Briscoe some credit here and suggest that he's probably embarrassed at what McDermott has said.
