typical fc signing........ WAS a great player who, wants to end his career at a team who will pay top dollar becuase no-one in the top 4 will want.....

We should remember that Saints offered Long a one year deal and apparently other clubs made him offers too.



His replacement at Saints, (the supposedly younger and fitter) Eastmond, did not play many games in the 2009 season due to injury.



Before we signed Long we were supposedly after Orford but look what happened to him.

He made 14 SL appearances for Hull and Eastmond only made 19 for Saints.

foresight is better, which some of us had with his signing, and that of Gleeson, and many others over the years, we just seem to sign the wrong players at the wrong time in their careers.



I wish Sean all the best, I don't think he'll make a top class coach myself, he doesn't have the mentality for it.

BTW Orford made 12 SL appearances for Bradford in 2010.

His time at HullFC didn't go as planned, but I cannot fault his efforts and commitment.



the only black mark on his time here was his sending off against Cas...but given the dreadful refereeing display (the worst I have seen in my time watching RL) I could understand why his frustration boiled over.
