He should get a ban for swearing at the ref, nothing more imo, I don't thik this makes him homophobic, Ive been call much worst, but because im white and straight, it doesn't matter.

to be fair, he could be calling him a fanny, using the female ladies parts in such a fashion would surely be punishable with a season ban

To be honest I dont have a problem with him getting off in the sense that I have wanted the Ref's to take action during a game for ages instead of copping out and using the "on report"



This doesnt take away consistancy of course.

I noticed what both of them said during the game and said they should both have walked there and then. If he lets them talk to him like that during a game without taking action then he is creating problems for himself and other refs.



Not the same level I know but when I used to referee football I would say to both teams that any foul and abusive language in my direction would be an instant red card. It only took a couple of weeks of sendings off before they got the message and it virtually never happened again. If He heard those comments and is citing them after the match then he didn't do his job properly in the first place.

Of course it makes him homophobic! What planet do you live on? If you call an Asian a "F****g P**i" that makes you a racist. It's also against the law, not just rules of the game.



I'm sure you've been called much worse, but you're not a referee, or a professional sportsman or a role model on live television and it's NOT banter. He's getting paid for playing that game. If you called your boss a F***** then you'd be sacked, suspended or reprimanded.



If refs lose the respect, the game is gone. Simple as.

He shouldnt of said it, it was out of order, but to say hes homophobic because of it, is ridiculous. He probably just needs educating. I didnt say it was BANTER either but hes a young kid, frustrated in a high contact sport and blurted out the first insult that came to his head. Is the ref in question actually gay? 1. Hardaker's outburst doesn't seem to be aimed at the ref. Look where his eyes are focussed compared to where the ref is walking.



2. Regardless of who it was aimed at it's completely unacceptable.

I see nothing has been put on the RFL disciplinary regarding squeaky clean Peacock's outburst calling the ref a "Fecking Bent C@@@"

If he'd called a coloured ref/player the N word he would have rightly been hung drawn and quartered. This is no different IMO. If you did it in the street to someone you would be arrested for it

If the ref in question is infact gay then I see your point, if not then I don't think it's any worst then calling someone a w****r, p*ick etc
