| I wasn't at the match and didn't see the alleged incident but [iif[/i a Hull FC fan was assaulted by a steward/security man that's bad enough but for a player to be manhandled is absolutely intolerable and the club should report it to the RFL.
We read on here of fans of certain clubs slagging off the supporters of both Hull clubs but we seem to have a situation where stewards/security staff/bouncers (whatever you want to call them) of Widnes and now Warrington are treating paying customers (and our fans are customers of their employer) like criminals.
Both Hull clubs take more away supporters than most and if they don't want our business let's not give it to them. If there were 3,000 Hull fans at Warrington last night at £20 each that's gate receipts of £60,000. Let's stay away and hit them where it hurts unti they get the message.

| Quote fc baldy="fc baldy"Which club players?...was FC informed of this "EXCLUSION" zone and is it signposted on the concourses or terracing...i cant recall seeing any on my visits to you.As for stopping players handing boots out...Jamie Foster did this at the KC against Cas and stewards didnt intervene as no problem at all....seems like your club is becoming like your coach...arrogant.'"
I think at some games its actually called for by the RFL not Warrington themselves. All teams/players are informed. There wont be any signs on the concourses if its the teams that are told not to go to the fans. Even the Warrington players will only go to the actual touchline when thanking the south-stand fans and I have seen Warrington players stopped by the Warrington stewards from approaching the crowd.
As for it being the other way around, it a fan steps over the perimeter fencing then they are going onto the playing area which is actually a criminal offence at ANY ground. Clubs can be fined if this happens hence the need for stewarding (note..need for stewarding....not heavy handed stewarding).

| I do know that there is an exclusion zone at Langtree Park also. This does not excuse the way the steward/bully boy went at Heremaia and the lad receiving the boots. Would be interesting to know if our lads were aware of the zone though. Just seems a shame that in our family sport the players aren't allowed anywhere near the fans anymore. The last thing we want is for them to be turned into prima donnas like footballers are.

| At the HJ they have bouncers that masquerade as stewards, so 'naturally' they wade in and usually pick out someone who isn't likely to respond. An elderly Rovers fan got knocked over due to these tactics this year, it needs sorting because these 'stewards' are the worse in Super League, also the same occured when Wire hosted Wigan.

| Quote The Judge="The Judge"I`ll tell you what we should with next years fixture. DON`T GO. Its that simple and when the Warrington club see three thousand fans missing then they might start to question their own policies regarding the stewarding of away fans.'"
Definately. Mentioned this on the Rovers board too, complete disgrace at Wire.

| You're far from the first set of fans to complain about the aggressive nature of the stewards in the west stand so id hope anyone who experienced any problems has put in a complaint to both clubs !
No decent wire fan wants to see visiting fans badly treated as it reflects badly on everyone

| On the other hand i had a cracking time with my lad and didnt see any of the issues discussed and in fact were handed two seat tickets before half time by one of the staff there so my lad could sit down (he has knee issues) so we were looked after very well .
shame that stuff goes on still though isnt it
security by day and club bouncers by night

| Just a thought but aren't stewards supposed to be SIA authorised? Didn't notice any badges but maybe they don't need them.

Stewards do not have to SIA, but it's good practice to be so. If they are SIA trained they have to display their badge. However, as a matter of good practice stewards should be trained, which would include conflict management. Not to induce it.

| Not fully sure but Wire seem to have a two tier system, one of the tiers being nob head meat heads.
It's not just confined to away support either.
Once heard one say (we have a rule about not standing on the yellow lined areas)
"Stand in the stand you pr!ck or stand outside"
Lovely way with words hey?
You're not the first to complain and won't be the last, they are nothing short of testosterone fuelled chimps, speak to the Cas fans thrown out for the crime of...wanting a picture taken with a steward in good fun?

It may even be 3 tier. They have their own safety stewards (usually the friendly ones you can have a good laugh with) , a company called Showesec (who i believe do a lot of Arenas etc) for doors and car parks and then the security firm who a lot of people call stwards but who are basically enforcement personel and who are all "bouncers" and hence do all have (and yep, they have them on display on their arms) SIA licences.
