| Was also funny hearing a bloke near me telling his wife that 'the rumour is we're looking to offload Holdsworth as he has a gambling problem'.
You get a better class of rumour at the game.

| Also heard tonight that Seymour had been on the sniff and was on his way to Humber Bridge.

| The game had a bit of everything tonight. Thought we fought hard in the first half to work them over, then let loose with some decent attacking play in the second half. Good defence throughout, though Cas offered very little in attack. Was hilarious to see Chase bomb a certain try by being greedy. Every time I see the nasty little turd play it makes me glad he's not a Hull player. Enjoyed the dust up, but think yellows would have been sufficient for both of those who saw red. Goes without saying that we need to keep Holdsworth fit if we're to stand any chance of improving on last season.
A good night's work overall, but must be backed up with an equal or better showing next week.

| As a neutral attending the game, I have to say how much I enjoyed it. I thought Hulls defensive line was superb and totally snuffed out Chase. The kicking game was excellent and created tries. Great to have a chat with Johnny Whiteley after the game

| Well done PG perfect tactics from the off in the conditions and in DJ you've got a player who can carry them out. You passed your test well

| Good performance, but perhaps not quite as good as the scoreline suggests as Cas gifted us a couple. Don't think you can say any Hull player played badly, although there were maybe a handful who were still a bit mixed (e.g. Yeaman, Lynch). Some also seemed to start a little slowly but then had really good games the longer the game went on (Westerman, Briscoe, and particularly Horne, who I thought had an excellent 2nd half). Galea's best game for us IMO, although I do still think his gametime needs to be managed better. Looked like he was really blowing for the last 10 of the first half to me. Thought Watts looked in really good condition for his first game back.
The most pleasing thing for me was that we showed more patience with the ball and actually built pressure instead trying to score on every tackle. Still a few occasions where we were guilty of trying too hard and turned over possession, but a vast improvement in this area.
Has there been any mention of Johnson and Pitts and why they were the ones to make way? Was it just tactical? I can't remember seeing them in the warm up, but strangely Chris Green was there despite not being in the 19. Wondered if one of them had dropped out injured or anything.
Jason Crookes has a job on to get back in the side.
