So? Even if this is true (which Fans' Forum, hmm?) what's that got to do with having to repay the loan? I'd give it back, if I were Hudge. Fancy making debt repayments on funds that are just sitting in the bank.

| Didn't the Council Leader say he would hold a city wide referendum over the sale of the K.C. Stadium? Would any would-be councillor risk the wrath of the public come election time by selling it off to Allam?
It will be interesting to see how long he hangs around if Hull City fester at the bottom of the Premier League prior to their probable fall back to the Championship.

Yes, he did.
My worry is that Allam would pump loads of cash into a referendum campaign to promote his "philanthropist intentions" and most Hull people not familiar with the situation would believe it. Plus he has the Mail and Humberside on his side. The council won't mount a counter-campaign as they are the "impartial" party asking the electorate. A referendum would be the worst case scenario for me, because if the public voted for it, lots of legal challenges could be overcome, I guess.
Plus the Labour ruling group are aligned more against him, I gauge. This would be very different if the Lib Dems took control.

| Not sure if its been mentioned but any money council get from the sale of the stadium cannot be used to fund other council services ie dustbin men etc.

Our problems, while not quite as you state them IMO, are more immediate, pressing and, yes worrying.
I still think it is better for Hull FC if City get up though.
Wharfey - the PL cash cow is getting fatter and the parachute payments much bigger. Getting up, this year in particular, would be massive for City and is probably the Allams' one shot at significantly mitigating the losses they've incurred.
Any referendum would require him to offer to [ibuy[/i the stadium, with actual real money - rather than accepting it as the council's contribution to his project (because that was realistic! ). If that happens, then the council gets a bit of cash, is freed of any potential liabilities and you've still got a long-term tenancy agreement. I think there are too many obstacles to overcome (agreeing a price, not least), but I don't think it'd impact on you too badly if did happen.
Major Black, aye it'd be ring-fenced, but handy nonetheless.

Well, quite.
But the straw that broke the camel's back last time (I've heard) was the risible offer made. It was either £250,000 or £2.5M. Think it was - unbelievably - the former, but I was laughing so hard I can't be sure. It was this offer, I believe, that prompted Cllr Brady to go "Phtt" and wave Allam away with a derisory flick of his hand.
Whether the PL promotion would enable him to up his offer remains to be seen, of course. Our tenancy is still a big sticking point for the council, and Allam wants us out (he'll need no tenants in the stadium when he comes to sell City). It may be cheaper for him to simply buy us and evict us as our owner. His proposed stadium acquisition would then become immeasurably simpler, by removing one of the major arguing points.

So, not a gift then? you do seem to have trouble with basic comprehension, or do you just like making stuff up to suit yourself.

| As much as I'd still like to see them promoted...I think they've blown it now, their confidence is shattered, Watford are playing at home to a Leeds side who will be on holiday mode and in the playoffs it is usually the side in a good run of form that triumphs.
