| Shame to lose him but it seems as though it will have a positive effect on the youngsters contracts in the future.

James Smailes answering somebody on Twitter - Hull will get compensation for Briscoe, but peanuts. They get something like £80 for every week he was on contract, about £4k i think

| The worrying thing is that with Luke at Leeds it would be more tempting for Tom to sign for them when he is out of contract.

| Unfortunate and disappointing but he's not the first ever player to be poached. Hopefully lessons have been learned and the new regime will not be so lax in this area. Doesn't reflect well on Rule IMO.

Why? He is his own person, a paid international. I'm sure he can make his own decision rather follow his younger brother.

Depends on who is in charge of sorting out the contracts.

I will not begin to pretend to know the ins and outs of what has happened with Briscoe but the appointment of Shaun McRae as DOR certainly seems to be justified if under the old structures these oversights can happen.

| Thing is he will be a smaller fish now in a bigger pond
Maybe not the best move for him career wise, especially with our lack of up and coming half backs

Until Bomber takes over on 1st October , then its down to Rule.
In fact it may still be after that date to cross the T's and dot the I's etc etc.

I don't understand why people think this. If thats how it works wouldn't we have more chance of keeping him, with Jack still being here, Tom already being in the team and knowing all the players. And also the way things are looking we're only going to get better over the next few years.

Really ? I'd never have guessed.
The reason I say Rule is because in the past he has strongly hinted that he has been involved in contract negotiations for players in terms of recruitment and retention. It is possible that someone else looked after junior contracts however if that person effectively worked for Rule then that still wouldn't reflect well on Rule.

Fair enough, but if the player was stalling and had outside interference like the story suggests I don't think Rule is the one to blame. I am sure AP & Bomber will look into the situation thoroughly and prevent this happening in the future.
