| I think ratchford and Myler at Salford were a bit like Cooke and Horne here in that It was Horne that got all of the early plaudits whilst Cooke became or could have become the far more complete player. I reckon that Ratchford could be the real deal especially if he ends up at say Saints. Certainly would have liked to see him here.
I think we let Broughton go because he wouldn't go full time because of his studies?

| Quote russelbarwich="russelbarwich"to be honest we had Dixon and got rid. I don't have the insider knowledge some people claim to have but sometimes the clubs ideas on player/squad management are baffling.
I still don't know why we got rid of Craig Poucher! The last guy to ever score a try on the hallowed turf!'"
That wasnt Poucher, it was..........(name evades me???)

| I've backed Broughton e/way at 100-1 for leading try scorer so am chuffed to see him notch 4 in a match! He is rapid, there's no doubting that but the Catalans defence was utterly shocking.
He does seem to have an outsanding player inside him in Ratchford. He's the one we should have pinched from Salford, we got that badly wrong.
Be intersting to see how he goes on for a full year as first choice for Salford.

| Thought we were right not to sign Broughton and still do. He's doing well for Salford, but not to the extent that I think any top side will be coveting him, and nor should we be.

| Based on performances over the last 18/24 months i would take Sharp over Broughton any day.

| To be fair a couple of his try's from that game are a bit special, great play between him and Ratchford. Was impressed with him a few times last season aswell, looks like he will make a really good winger. To be honest from the little Ive seen of Broughton and the bit more Ive seen of Sharp I dont see how anyone could say one is better then the other. It would be either rose tinted specs because Sharp is a Hull player or someone looking to slag the club off for not signing Broughton, both look to have good potential and will be interesting to see them develop, they are of a similar age and experience.
Sharp looks to have a bit more to his overall game, were as Broughton looks to be more of an out and out sprinter, although that dosnt always transfer onto the field, as Richie Barnett Jrn (playing for Hunslet tonight) was probabally one of the fastest players over 100 meters Ive ever seen, he was lightning quick, and although he was a decent player for us never made a massive impact with ball in hand.

Great tackle on Gardner in the CC semi 2005 though. Pivotal point in the match.
