There's no questioning his passion but he was at fault for their first try.



And as for putting Newton on his backside, if he'd done it from the front with clenched fist fine, but pulling someone over by their shirt from behind ??? It's a cheap shot actually.

His try aside, I thought Newton went missing for for most of the game. Like you say tho Jake, 'twas funny.

TBH I blame that on Whiting, he shot out so Yeamo also had to so his decision was made for him

I thought Newton played pretty well and defended until he could hardly walk. I really enjoyed the game (for "enjoy" read "babbed my pants throughout"icon_wink.gif and couldn't really fault anyone on either side... although I might make an exception where Cockayne is concerned.

Spot on. Yeamo has a history for it so you can forgive some people. Once they've seen the replay they'll see what happened.

I am sure I will get shot down for this but... Whilst you can find little fault with him last night, how many times do we have threads like this for Kirk ? Rarely. Whiting this season has been spoken about loads and yet Kirk goes under the radar. Why is this ? For mine its because he can't be ar54d most of the time. With Turner and Tommy (who will be a centre imo) improving with every game I see tough times ahead for Kirk unless he starts putting in passionate performances like that week in week out, not just against Rovers.



That said credit where credit is due for last night but I personally would like to see that more often. Cookie has gone he needs to stop falling behind the no service excuse and start looking for service and going the extra mile.

Can't fault his passion that is for sure. Fantastic comedy moment with Newton. Just wish he would push up and support more - Tick's break a prime example of where he wasn't but should have been.

And still comes to watch Rovers

Does he find it cheaper then the comedy club?

If he plays with that passion and intensity/concentration for the next 5 games then we'll forgive him his occasional defensive misses and start to see him as a decent centre. Just hope it's not a one (KR) game wonder. He was very good last night and totally focussed.
