| Quote Hessle Roader="Hessle Roader"But they have wonder coach Powell and they are further down the table than we are. I agree they don't get their trousers taken down as often as us but they do appear to be losing more often. Lets hope that continues on Friday.'"
He certainly gets the best out of his players, some of whom would be considered average by our supporters.
Cas are losing games but most are close not the blowouts we have endured.
It also isnt surprising they are losing some games given their injury list.I think they have eleven first team players currently out.
Our injury list of first team players is less.
If Cas get a couple of their injured forwards back and we dont get Sneyd and Kelly back then Cas will run away with the game with Watts man of the match and Taylor sent off for trying to take his head off

| Quote Bombed Out="Bombed Out"So it's okay for Hull to use injuries as an excuse but not Castleford, who are more deeply effected than us?
Powell I think is a better coach than Radford.
I think the post was more a point of mental resilience than anything else.'"
Firstly if memory serves me correctly, Powell was moved upstairs by Leeds as he was having no positive influence on the side, I can’t exactly remember what happened after his Leeds coaching position, think he went to rugby union and the championship.
He has improved Castleford of this there is no doubt, taking them to a hub cap winners team, then a losing grand final. He has Cas playing a super brand of footie, but as yet pot less.
Radders, not been coaching as long, and has taken the poison challis of Hull FC, he’s made two GF semi finals and was very unlucky in both not to reach the Holy Grail.
He’s reached two Challenge cup finals winning both these against Warrington and Wigan respectively.
The statistics tell a different story to your statement as to who is the better coach, as for injuries both teams have been decimated by them, as it stands we get trounced a lot more than we should, this is a weak link of our team, it’s not acceptable, and it’s bloody hard to take, but I will stick by Radders, He is a proven winner, unlike Powell who has won nowt.

I have no doubt if Powell had had the money that has been made available to Radford by Pearson Castleford would have won more than just the league leaders shield.

You're right Bonaire, I was just about to type something similar myself.
Powell 3 finals and a LLS. He's been at Cas a year longer than Lee at Hull and took over Cas at the bottom of the league.
Assembled a team of mainly cast offs and plays an exciting attacking brand of rugby.

True. At the same point in their careers that Powell was getting Leeds RU relegated in his first season in charge Radford had won back to back Challenge Cups.
I also think it's a fallacy that Radford inherited a very good side. We started 2014 with Crookes, Crooks, Miller, Tuson, Whiting, Arundel in our 1-17. Radford replaced these with Fonua, Tuimavave, Sneyd, Manu, Minichiello and Connor.
I also think it's untrue that we are a dull side to watch in terms of attack. With the personnel Radford has recruited in the pivots I actually think we overplay at times. Some of our centreplay this year with Carlos, Connor and Griffin has caused oppositions problems and been great to watch.
I agree with the view that Powell is a very good coach - so he should be 19 years of experience one way or another. But the reality is Radford's delivered more in 5 years, so this should not be dismissed so readily.

I don't get this extra money either, who has Radford bought? Sneyd is the only bug one that comes to mind, whilst Powell bought Hardaker and Watts. Both teams will be operating at full cap.
There is no doubt Powell is a good coach and has the knack of improving players, same could be said for Radford with the likes of Bowden, Griffin and Connor.
Two big concerns for Powell is his ability to win big games and the lack of development of young players, two of which Radford has done or is doing.
