For the record, if there were no Hull KR playing at any level, and it was a genuine merger, I reckon I'd switch allegiance. I enjoy following (mostly from afar) RL and I grew up in Hull.

Despite needing it much more, a merger would be no guarantee of success though. Can you imagine watching on and thinking 'after all that, we're still poop'?

My gut reaction is that I'd probably not follow a merged club and would switch to whatever 'Real FC' type club inevitably sprung up in the amature leagues. Following a sports club isn't all about success - otherwise I'd have switched clubs long ago.

Pretty good debate on a particularly thorn subject. Not read it all but there are so many politics surrounding the two teams that it seems nigh on impossible to carry out.



I don;t know whether its age or just reason that tells me this is realistically will become a serious option at some point int he future. Will probably involve a team based at the KC and inevitably will end up with KR being reformed in another guise and FC ending up being reverted back to being what they are today.



The worst part would be that we'd lose what little bit of glory we all get today which is a friendly (in most cases) one up manship on the old enemy.



For anyone who has seen megamind it kind of reminds what rugby in our town would be like to me if FC went bust (vice versa for you lot).
