Realistically tomorrow there will only be 1 of Green/Kent, Bowden and Nicklas who will be playing, who I would class as 'inexperienced', its not as if we are dragging kids out of the under 18s to simply make up the numbers. |

Maybe this loan deal is being used not only in the short term by the club but with a mind to next season and the potential loss of 2 senior prop forwards. An opportunity to show Pitts that this is a club on the up and he could be a part of it!

I'd say this means Whiting will be at 1 against Bradford with Turner centre and Aspinwall prop, leaving us very short in the back row. I think he'll start at 13, with Green or Kent coming on to spell him.
If the injury situation improves he might only end up playing the one game anyway.

I'd normally agree with that but the fact the it's easter changes things. Players with hardly any SL experience will struggle to play Friday/Monday. |

Good move. Best to do it now rather than pick up injuries tomorrow and have to play half the 20s next Friday/Monday. Adds strength in depth for the busy period. We risk the potential for having to call on too many young forwards for Rovers/Hudds if we have a bad day with knocks tomorrow and this helps to offset that a bit. Pitts will get to train with the team next week in preparation.
Not a sleight on our young players in the slightest. They're getting a better deal this season than they've ever had.

There hasn't been any official announcement so technically it's still a rumour. Jut because you think there's going to be an official announcement doesn't make it a done deal. You could create a Elliott Whitehead done deal topic and it would have the same meaning. I'm not saying we aren't signing him but certain mods move delete threads that seem to be inappropriate yet they do the same thing. |
