So what you are saying is that Long,a top player all his career cant be Rsed to play for us?

I'd play Long and Horne and have Obst off the bench to split the gametime with Houghton 50/50. Think this will work really well.

Totally agree and hopefully means we dont see Washbrook again.

As good as Obst is playing, we need Long for his kicking game to turn the other team around. I'd try Long and Obst with Houghton starting and Horne on the bench. Then when houghton needs a rest, switch Obst to 9 and Horne at halfback.

I've said on here before that I'd have Obst rotating with Houghton at 9, but by the sound of how he's played in the halves in the last two games (Murdoch described him as having 'the game of his life'), I can't see the justification for moving him.

Eventhough Obst has been, arguably, our best HB so far? he was brilliant today and showed exactly why he was brough in.

I must admit, I'm edging towards that point of view myself. If he's playing well there, let him stay there. Long has been inconsistent even when he's been fit.



It won't happen though. Take the whole Whiting/Tansey situation last year as an example.

I believe that Sean Long must play himself back into the side. I think Sam Obst should partner Richard Horne, [as some of my previous posts have stated until circumstances change. In otherwords either one of them gets an injury or looses form, which I hope will not happen to either player.



Sean Long has been a quality player [as his playing record shows. I think, however, no matter what is quoted in public by certain people, his interest in the team is not what it should be and in the game not what it used to be. To some extent I can understand that, however, if he is being paid a large amount of money, he will 'soldier-on' and one cannot blame him for that.

yeah Thats what i saying.. Long isnt affraid on controvesy.. Hes been there and done it.. End of day, how many games has he played for us.. In them games, how many has he peformed to the best of his ability.. If he was focussed on us he wunt of give up the captains armband..
