| As an ex coach I never 'slag' the players , in fact the opposite.
I blame the Coach 100% and always will. We have all aspects of this club right apart from this blind addiction to Rich Agar.
Appoint Bellamy from Storm or Hasler or even convince Brian Smith to come back.

I am not defending Agar here, or any coach...but the coach is not the one missing tackles, jumping out of line, wrong options etc etc...It is up to the players to perform, we are riddled with internationals yet you would not think so.

I have to disagree with you here s I am a fan of 99% of players. They are brave and usually try their best.
The coach makes all the difference , ask any player who has been coached by a genius. Players can have discipline installed by the coach IF the coach has a big follow up session after each game and spends a lot of time 1 to 1 with players. Man-management , and I am not sure the players are afraid of Agar or indeed in awe of him.
Do they play for him ?

Not about him for me...They should be playing for themselves, each other, and the fans.

| I agree it was a very disappointing day yesterday and whilst I am also unhappy about our totally uninspiring coach, a little bit of perspective is needed I feel.
No one would have lived with Leeds at times either yesterday or last sunday. Yes we made errors but that is because of the pressure we were under. They are bigger, faster and more skillfull than us when they have their full compliment of top players available. This is a fact. We're guilty of believing our own hype and like Hutchie said on another thread, a win yesterday would only have papered over the cracks.
Leeds have been the champion side in this country for the last 3 years and and we have been near relegation fodder. Folk were raising their hopes on the basis of playing the Leeds of the current season thus far but this season they have simply been decimated with injuries to key players. We know how we have fared when we have missed Dykes in recent years or Long now, the same applies to other clubs, take Sinfield out alone and Leeds are a different side, remove another 8 players (like when they played rovers) and it is not the Leeds we are all accustomed to.
So where does this leave us? Well reality has finally bitten. Just wallowing still aren't we, saddled with the same drip of a coach for another 2 years or so and hoping to finish somewhere in the back end of the top 8. We have some good players but the squad is unbalanced and we still have a total lack of ball handlers.
The really sad thing for me is that I honestly feel with a top coach (Brown, Maguire Millward) and a little bit of tinkering to the squad we would be challenging for the top 4. If the board had any imagination and guts, this could be achieved sooner rather later.

| I think we're on the road to mediocrity. We should be a top 4 side given our facilities; support and financial positon. But we should be realistic, at the moment our squad isn't strong enough, despite allegedly being at full salary cap. So we need a coach who can bring the best out of these average players or we need (another) massive overhaul of playing staff.
If we aspire to be a top team; we need top players. Who from our squad would get into the teams at Wigan, Leeds, Saints or Warrington? I would suggest Berrigan, O'Meley and (based on potential) some would take Briscoe.

| Mr. Rules main concern appears to be the balance sheet. This would explain why he went for the cheap option when hiring and rehiring our clueless coach. It also dictates that despite his shortcomings and the team obviously not playing for him, he will not be removed by JR and co. I think he is too much their 'mate' and not enough their boss. Yesterday he stated that the lack of cover for Danny Houghton was a major concern. A pity he didn't show the same concern when signing our 33 year old, rather injury prone scrum-half....oh, wait a minute i forgot we have Danny Washbrook, he always plays well in the halves. The only way Agar is leaving his position is if he walks. Rule would have massive amounts of egg on his face and he's never going to pay-up a 2 year contract.

| Every game I go with a view we will win today, I even convinced a few people to go that don't usually go and I felt like a complete fool afterwards. I had been selling my team all week expecting a hard fought close game with Fc eventually coming out winners, excitement wipped up and at least one more new fan joining our ranks, what I got was if we can go watch Leeds every week then I'll definetly come, why would I want to come watch that - Why indeed!!
I have sat on the fence over Agar but I have got to say Average coach and Average team, we will make the 8 but only just the way we are playing. I will continue to go and shout my head off for them to do well but I have not felt so =#FF0000dissapointed in ages.

| Agar needs to go; players need to demonstrate a hunger for confrontation and pride in the club shirt or need moving on. I think that's the simple truth.

| The clear out we needed and still need is of the whole coaching establishment. We need a new culture top to bottom. Crooks and Last have been many of these players mates for all of their playing careers right through from junior rugby. Agar has been around the club as assistant or coach for , what , 6 years? Seems longer. We've showed that this dynasty idea doesn't work unless it's based on success in the first place. No amount of time will make this coaching set up capable of bringing a good young player through or changing a player's attitude from amateur to professional or indeed building a true bonded team. The club as much as admitted that last year when they had to bring Fitz in mainly to help Agar change some attitudes. We have little in the way of brains out on the pitch granted but to play probably the one player that has one , Whiting , on the wing is crazy. He's a loose man and we should start with him and put the rest around him. Yesterday even the normally brain dead Yeaman - who is playing ok at the mo - could see that we were strong at his side but persisted in going right. Washbrook was arguing with Tansey , Fitz seemed to be just perplexed at times. They looked like they didn't know each other , just the same at Headingly.
Out the lot of them now. Long can take over as , sometime , player coach and sign the ooc players that have something to offer especially Manu who must surely be looking to get away - how sad is it for him to be playing for us , imagine how devastating he'd be in that Leeds side. We wouldn't be any worse with no coach in place.
Utterly depressing.

It is, and the same comment could have been written last year, the year before, and the year before that.
