Even you can see there will be no timely boosts next week. FCs to lose next week.

| Quote UllFC="UllFC"Ref was dire but we cant ignore that yet again there were many basic errors, we must have the worst passing ability in the league! Saints still had a few players missing and just seemed to go through the motions and waste time, yet we still cam away with zero points.
Yet again our best players were our 'old timers' Minichello and Pryce who continue to perform well but are hardly long term options. Ellis hobbled off yet again, the decision to extend his deal for another year is starting to look like poor business.
Sadly I didn't see much tonight to change my opinion that we'll be bottom 4'"
Funny how people see differently. I saw it massively different.
Our passing at time was hot. How many times you ever seen us go to the wing and go 40 metres from behind our own tryline from a kick off. Mad stuff that the hudds game was only weeks ago.Angles were ran n Ellis was man of the match for me. Mini was ace 2nd. Quiet 1st. Ellis monster ed everything. He was the only 1 who knocked walmsley about. He was shook up a few times by Ellis. Ellis went off with 2 left. Just the effects of last week's dead leg it looked like.
Need some more follow up to watts.
We played some sharp stuff tonight at times but have to credit saints. They defended brilliant. We still need more improvement but we'd of had enough for most barring the big boys. Even though our own errors killed us. but I've also got to say. That's 1 of the worst refs I've seen. He destroyed that game. Radford was bang on in his interview.

Ellis was a beast tonight, dished out some great shots.

| I was back tonight, and glad I did. Sloppy 10-15 minutes apart, we tried to play rugby and provide the kind of game I want to go and watch. Too many errors, yes, but I'd sooner see us try and fail than plod along playing safety-first basics. First time I've come away feeling pretty positive in a long time. More of that, please.
Much better, and if anything Saints pulled off a bit of a smash and grab.

| Quote DABHAND="DABHAND"Think the ref letting Saints slow the play the ball down, and so letting their defence get set, stifled Hull. Our lack of pace showed tonight and think that it is imperative that we get a couple of pacy backs.Don't know if Lancaster is fit or not but he certainly has pace.Losing Naughton certainly had a detrimental effect on our back line.'"
Back line has to be lineham, talanoa, sa, naughton for me when all fit. michaels and yeaman not up to it

| Quote Kosh="Kosh"Massively disappointing performance. Maybe the corner still hasn't been turned after all.'"
Personally, I came away not feeling like that at all. Did you go or is it the impression the radio gave? Frustrating at times, but not disappointing IMO, we made errors because we tried to play the game the right way. I'll not fault them too much for that, it's what most of us have been crying out for. Only Talanoa seemed to make an excessive amount of poor errors.

Agree. But I thought michaels went ok tonight. Had a real dig. Bet he's got some decent stats

We also made plenty of unforced errors, including at least 3 from talanoa

Maybe a bit unfair on michaels who does defend well (other than kicks) and carries the ball strongly but isn't much of a threat with ball in hand for me

2 buggers - the one in the dark blue top too. In fact, I'm sure he kicked one of their penalties before shefellover and ran off.
What a sideshow that was - obviously deliberate and intended to distract - coaching onfield blatently and not more than 10 swigs of water actually administered to anyone. Exposed the ref's naivety and inexperience in all it's nakedness - he failed to nip it in the bud after the first 10 minutes of -taking then didn't have a clue how to address it. Thought orange-and-blue shirts would accompany him and the touch judges asthey slunk off in a huddle... they certainly had a good go in joining in the other scrums.

| Quote scarrie="scarrie"All in all not to unhappy tonight.
Great effort and I thought they defended well for the most part. Some poir defence from kicks but with short wingers its always a risk I suppose.
We've asked for more enterprising play and we got it imo, just the execution was a bit off. I lost count of how many time Talanoa almost got through. As a result we were under the kosh a lot.
=#0000BFI was surprised at Saints tbh, I've never associated them with being a niggly, spoiling team but they were allowed to get away with it. Just one of those nights where we couldn't catch a break.
I agree about centres too. If says something when Whiting, who isn't really a centre, is one of the best centres at the club.'"
I thought Roby dished a fair bit of the naughty treatment out tonight. Not a player I'd really associate with that kind of thing but quite indicative of their tactics.
