Hello guys, quick question:



According to the RFL site, Hull FC are playing two matches on the same day, one against York and one against Doncaster? I visited Doncaster's site and they're advertising the match, as are the York City Knights. Can someone shed some light?

Yeah, we are putting two different teams together and playing the games at the same time, some coaches go to one game, radders goes to the other and that way they can give every player a run out and a chance to impress.



However it isn't clear at the moment what is happening with the York game. It was supposed to be played at the football ground in York but because knights owner hasn't signed some document its in doubt that we are playing there. So that game will either be at the old Huntington ground or possibly a double header with Doncaster at keepmoat.

The York game doesn't look like it will be played. The whole reason behind it is because the tenure ran out on the current lease for the Huntington stadium so the plan was for them to share the Bootham Crescent football ground while the Huntington stadium was being rebuilt into some type of fancy sports village I think it was and then York City Knights could return to the ground and continue their home fixtures there when it was completed. However the agreement the council wrote up for the Bootham Crescent share only had a 2 years lease on it which York turned down as they feared homelessness after those 2 years and now the council have withdrawn from all negotiations and it's looking like a legal issue now.



It's the same story with the training facilities meaning they have not had proper training sessions due to having to borrow different clubs facilities such as Castleford Tigers gym etc. The players have been told to continue training like the game is still on but it's very unlikely.

the plan was for both the football and rugby teams to share the new stadium, but there are severe doubts that this project will ever go ahead i believe, hence the reluctance of the rugby team to sign such a short lease to share bootham crescent. the problem for york is that there are not too many alternatives in the surrounding area in terms of a location to move to. they could in theory end up sharing at somewhere like cas, but its a fair distance

I would be delighted if it turns out to be a double header. Paid £2 for these today, they are specifically for watching sport. 8 hours of heat. Will get more bang for my pensioner purchase buck

The Knights will release a statement regarding the Hull FC game next Sunday at 10pm on the club's website.

The fixture will now be played at the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster, next Sunday (11th January), with a 4.45pm KO as part of a double header, with Doncaster RLFC taking on Hull FC’s young guns at 3pm
