| Quote metallicat="metallicat"FYI in future, left at the motorway junction & then left into Eccles ARLFC car park, £3, 15 mins walk to ground. And after back on motorway before half 5, home for half 6.'"
Or park on Barton airfield. I stopped at the shops on the way home to Bolton, sat down to Pizza at 5:25!

| Could someone kindly give a little rundown of how the new players went please?
Unfortunately couldnt make it across today but listened to full game on radio Manchester.......abysmal commentary from a Wakefield fans point of view....can't ever remember hearing Scott Anderson mentioned even once in terms of carrying the ball in.....the only mention of him I heard referred to him as a halfback.....
They were pretty biased, which I suppose is understandable, but to be fair they gave us great credit at full time saying we should have won......as I say though, was very difficult from the commentary to know who was doing what....
McShane sounded to have a cracking game and sounded like Godinet was dangerous from the new players....
How did the likes of Ryan....Anderson.....Smith.....Keinhorst.....etc.....go......cheers

Got over fairly early and parked in first car park on the right, waited 15 mins back at the car and then got straight away.

| In brief:
Anderson ran hard and often, he's quick over the ground so makes an extra metre or so, he finds the floor on his front and gets a quick play the ball. Solid in defence.
Ryan looks a little short of full fitness but that didn't stop him playing long minutes today, no doubt he'll get even better as his fitness improves. He's a big lump of a bloke and takes some holding while he also defended well.
Godinet was very sharp with the ball in hand and picks out his runners exceptionally well, delivering a pass that can be taken without slowing down. He's light on his feet and quick to spot an opportunity, also defended very well and covered across to the wing to cut down Meli after Fox got caught too far infield.

| Godinet looks a cracking signing, very light on his feet and quite a tricky player to tie down and can spot and exploit gaps in defence. He reminds me of Tommy Leuluai.
Ryan is huge, absolutely huge and is a grafter. I'd say he'll take a couple of game before showing what he is capable of but made one of two breaks out wide.
Anderson looked steady to me, made decent yards, tackled well enough and will be a decent signing.

| I thought all the overseas signings did well considering the time they've been in the UK. The way Godinet sniffed his try was awesome, he's looking to create a half chance whilst also being composed with ball in hand. Both new forwards did well making good yards and tackling well. I was particularly impressed with McShane though, his distribution excellent, a shimmy and dummy here and there, looking for a gap or someone to get on his shoulder. He worked really hard for the team as I think they all did today and you can't ask for more than that.
Special mention for Taulima Tautai, he takes it in so well, has 4 on him every time and still gets an offload away. Definitely his best yet in a Trinity shirt.
The only disappointing thing is we lost but didn't deserve to and my record at Salford went too. Ah well, 5 wins out of 6 is still pretty good. Roll on Thursday, can't wait.

| woke up at 4am and checked the score... then spent the next 2 hours reading the forum and web reports... great start to a season that promised disaster.
this is a team that will grow and grow!
ps well done to Salford on hanging on for the win...

| Obviously gutted we didn't sneak that one but still I came away with many positives, most of which has been mentioned previously.
I can't wait to see all of Godinet, McShane and Sammut in full flow after a few games together.

| Ironically, now I've seen the highlights, it was Tim Smith that stopped the Ali try and held him up.
Whether that was the right decision or not it is ironic considering we were all saying he was the weak link in defense.

| I think so, whether it was intended or not I'm not sure. Keinhorst went off injured after about 5-10 minutes and that left us with just 3 subs
