The players you mention are all legends I agree who were all blessed with great skill, kicking handling speed ect. but rugby league is a team game and you need players who can do the hard yards. Every time I see Jamie Peacock he invariably makes some great yards for his team when their backs are against the wall and to do this year after year at the top level puts him in legendary status.

He's made the Superleague dream team for all but 3 of the last 11 years, captained the national team for many years and won more Championship rings than any other player.

He's also won every other domestic trophy on offer and a has a couple of WCCs to boot.



Talk to any discerning Leeds fan and they'll tell you he's one of most influential players the club has ever signed.

That may be pretty ordinary to you, but I suspect your in a pretty tiny minority.

I understand that HRH the Queen is especially fond of that YouTube clip where Peacock knocks the tar out of Wilie Mason, so perhaps that's why he's been honoured?



Either way, good for him and for the game - pity it's been a bit overshadowed by the bent shenanigans of another Wiganer.

I like Peacock he's been a class act and fair play to him. But the honours list is just a load of old irrelevant that has run it's course imo

Peacock deserves his honour as most do who get such recognition, however I also think the list is irrelevant. I think they are having a laugh with some of the past and present recipients! Totally outdated -find a different way to recognise our sportspeople without dragging them into the often old pals act of receiving such an 'award'

bloody legend. no where near mate.good bloke, decent player. over-rated for the past 2 seasons. time he retired completely from international game and gave better players that are waiting in the wings their chance. when he is not training because his knees are so bad. then he should know its time. but legend mate ,no chance

As a rule I find the vast majority of Wakey fans to be pretty knowledgeable.
