This. Stupid to plan it on a day when a fixture could be moved. You'd think they'd have thought of that beforehand. Hope the players haven't got a trip booked for next week either.
Sky put so much money in the game, you have to be naive to think they can't move fixtures around to suit them. Inconvenient and a pain? Yes, but why anyone is surprised I have no idea. Even the all mighty football gets games shifted at short notice. People just get on with it.

| Calm down folks.
End of season fixtures, if they are meaningful, are always subject to change.
Although some people wont be able to make the games when they are moved, going over to the darkside is better on Saturday than Friday, at least the traffic will be lighter
We should invite them to play at BV

| I feel for the Salford fans, I know how I`d feel if our last home game was switched at short notice, Leigh looks favourite to stage the game, I wonder how many Salford fans will travel, could be outnumbered by Wakey fans, just hope Bulls will have lost to take some presure off, couldn`t handle another game like yesterday`s.

| To trinwildcat. Parking at Leigh is FREE, plus the Stadium is better than Salfords anyway. After all Salford are always training there so its almost home to them anyway

How rude of yawnion and the Sale club!!! As far as Im concerned Salford are the head tenants/owners of their new ground and therefore they should have the first call on playingthere. Why can't Sale play at Stockport County's ground like they have been doing for so many years?? Especially considering that Stockport have an away game this Saturday.

Having visited both this year, I would agree!
Salford City Stadium is a soleless place (Esp for our CC game there). LSV on the other hand was superb when we visited!

| Been doing some research and I can confirm the following nearest boozers for the match:
Thomas Burke (Wetherspoons), 20A Leigh Road
The Goose, junction of St Helens Road and King Street
The Hilton Arms, Twist Lane (behind the car park and ground)
The Britannia, St Helens Road - this is the nearest one from the ground.
Thanks.

RFU rules for premiership club state they have to have priority over pitch usage or no inclusion.
London Welsh faced the possibility of not being promoted, so they had to switch from Readings ground to Oxford Utd's (i think).
Look at Leeds at Headingley, they're not even second in the pecking order!!
Its a shame but as part of the "share" of Salford's ground they (the Salford club) must have given Sale that assurance.
