| I thought Brough had been better than Dobson but looking at the stats probably Dobson deserves to be in. Id still prefer to have Danny in our team though

Dobson didn't play well on Saturday, but he didn't get in the Dream Team by accident, he has been excellent in 90% of matches.

| Quote Slugger McBatt="Slugger McBatt"I don't like finding myself in a position of defending another team's player over one of ours, but I am sticking up for Dobson, not putting Broughy down.
As KR finished above us, your argument doesn't seem the strongest. Dobson is a very good player, and consistent with it, and unlikely to cost a game (or be suspended for one) due to a brainstorm. I would have Dobson in a Wakey shirt in a heartbeat. Also, surely a prop can be measured in stats, as that is the job of a prop, yards and tackles.
Also, looking at that dream team, if that is a measure of form, looks like a Leeds-v-Hull KR final.'"
Ok, so because KR finished one place above the Wildcats, that makes Dobson a better player than Brough?!
Furthermore, see Bloomers point re: tackle statistics - I'm still waiting for an apology for your previous sardonic comment.
Dobson is an excellent player, no shadow of a doubt and is worthy of being a contender or even a spot in the dream team. What I will say is that I rate Brough more highly and he is defensively better, as the stats (contrary to your previous post) quantify.

| Quote jonh="jonh"I think they make them up half of the time, some of the stats for Fielden have been a joke claiming he made tons of yards forwards in a game more than Coley when infact he has been handed his rear and put on it after every driuve he has taken in some games.'"
Do agree with the stats point - whoever works at Opta need to check their maths as Brough has posted at least 1 40:20 this season and some of the other figures do look rather circumspect.
I think the Fielden yards figure must include those where he's going backwards!!

| Quote bloomers="bloomers"In fairness the last solicitor's bill I paid showed an even greater disregard for maths as far as I was concerned.
As for the SL stats on that site, I'm not so sure about them, I'm certain Brough has kicked 40-20s this season.'"

| Pleasing things to me are that their are 8 English players in the 13, and Saints have only got 1 more player in than Wakefield, no wonder they only finished 2nd.

| Quote jonh="jonh"I think it is testamant to the team ethic and coaching that Wakefield can get into there best position ever in SL and not have a member in the Dream Team, generally all have performed very well, and while they may not have been the best in there respective positions the team has done so well.'"
I agree and I would be astounded if wakey never picked up the team of the year award at the MOS awards.
On the Dobson / Brough debate, although I think Broughy is a good player I just think Dobbo is more consistant. When he has a quiet game he is just that quiet, whereas when Brough has a bad one he seems to really stand out and then lose the plot and usually the game with it.
