I'm not knocking the lad, btw - I'm delighted that he wants to stay with us - but I'm sure he won't be with us next season, and a full season in the spotlight with us will raise his contract bargaining value against other clubs.

New owners. Offer him a renewed contract on dual terms for seasons after this one a sl contract the other a champ contract. That way no matter what happens with franchise we get a fee for him if he leaves as he'll be under contract. Is this possible??

No. As far as I know while you are in SL you can only offer him a SL contract. If you lose your license his SL contract becomes null and void
