Yep you're right Danny Brough was another great Wakefield half back we've sold some good players haven't we over the years and yet we're still in the smelly stuff financially.

Think the club is in so poor a financial state it couldn't offer new 1 year contracts to Wildie and Goulding.



I'd have thought this would now change with Smith off wage bill plus about £100,000 cash (if true) as Wildie provides good 7 & 9 cover.

Goulding should be played for the last 2 games at 6 and see how he goes to justify another 1 year contract.

Tim Smith utterly over rated. I am relieved it's not Danny Kirmond, who is 10 x more valuable to us than Mr, no look, chuck the ball anywhere, Sky commentator w%£k fest Smith. He can go and annoy Salford fans fo me and if it keeps us solvent, more fool them

I hope it is more than £100k to be honest but unfortunately they know we need it so could have offered less.

Goulding and Kay should be getting a shot these next two games. Goulding showed some nice touches at 6 last game for his part and I'd be happy to see him and Kay pair up in the halfs and show what they can do.



As for smith been overrated, maybe slightly but with chase as his 6 I think it's a pretty shrewd signing for them.



Smith still sets up plenty and it will be a loss. Not an earth shattering loss but still a loss all the same.

I think we should look at a loan signing from the NRL...for next season.

I'm really not sure it is. Tim Smith has always played his best games for us alongside a steady organiser type player in Sykes and that's not what he'll have if playing alongside Maverick Chase.

I guess we'll see who is right next year but based on his performances for us, I am yet to be convinced it is the best pairing.

Or pay outstanding bills - which is a reality that all clubs need to deal with to keep financial, and clear debts for the next season. Reality of a business. And as previously said one player is not a team.



If this means dealing with debts and saving the club, and our good name, go for it!
