| I personally don't think he has ever been that "devastating" but is an OK prop and a cult figure. I watch him play and he has a few good games but from what I have seen lately he plays in short bursts and still gets dominated quite a lot.
If there are a few clubs in the race for him I think we should concentrate our resources on someone who might bring more long term value.
I'm not sure how Asotasi has gone for Warrington this year but I would have had a similar opinion about him from watching him in the NRL over the past 2/3 years. Best years behind them

| His style of play is ten a penny. The NRL don't use that style of player any more, they have moved on. He's only well known for his funny name . If he was called Ted Jones he wouldn't be on anyone's radar.

| I'd sign him just for his name alone.

| Watched him this season at Parramatta when he played at the beginning. Dropped for youngsters coming through. IMO wouldn't be worth a punt.

| Quote bren2k="bren2k"The 'draw' of FuiFui can't be ignored though; he's a RL character and would certainly pique the interest of anyone who's watched the NRL; the kind of player who could add a few on the gate. And 35 or not, for 20 mins each half, he can still be devastating.
All that said, if he's available and coming to SL, he'll be off to Salford - they've certainly found a way to make the cap work for them...'"
Absolutely Agree with this,
As some one who watches a heck of a lot of NRL, Moi Moi has always being loved by the fans and he would be loved by our fans and would defo draw the crowd, I also would imagine he would be Salford Bound too
Re comparisons to previous Aussie/kiwis who are getting on, Wasn't brad drew 34 when he left us, although he'd lost his pace he could still win a game on his own!

| I find this one a bit odd to be honest. Firstly there is the age issue and add to that his performances have dropped off dramatically in the last few years. I am sure he would still have the ability to get Eddie and Stevo wetting themselves in excitement as he did the odd eye catching drive, for them to turn a blind eye to his missed tackles and low minutes in the pitch.
Secondly I am sure he served time in prison which given the visa situation is a significant issue for him ever getting an opportunity to play in SL.
Either way from a performance point of view not up to it anymore. Certainly not the player he was. If you can afford to have a luxury player in your 17 worth a punt I guess but I don't think many of the coaches these days think there is room for a luxury player anymore.

| Sorry but a prop at 35 years of age is up against it because of his age and then adapting to SL, I don't really care what his name is.
One name I'm more interested in signing up is Richard Moore. He's been busting a gut for us and in my opinion has a couple more years at the top - get him signed up as a priority.

| Is he really that much of a draw for the part time fans??
I would guess anyone who is that keen on Rugby League to watch the NRL on a regular basis will more than likely be down at Belle Vue most weeks, and if they are not, is a 35 year old who hardly plays anymore really going to force them to part with there hard earned????
If we re sign Moore, that's one prop that our coach & his predecessor think can only play in 10/15 min spells. Not sure we can carry 2 in the squad, especially not when one of them will want a serious last payday.

Spot on, sense at last.
If it were not for his odd name very few people would have ever heard of him. Even at his best he was never IMHO a world beater. His box office appeal for the floating fans is no greater than your average SL prop - which is zero - and IMHO wouldn't gain us a single extra fan.
If Moimoi is what counts as a marquee signing in SL these days then I despair.

| Agree with people stating his drop off in form and age etc so it would be a no from me. The only way I would have him, which doesn't happen now much is pay per game contract. I feel he does still have a slight draw factor but not enough to shell out our pennies for him unless as I say on pay per game. For me a lot comes down to honesty of the player and whether they will give you all their efforts. There is a cost to get him over here etc and there is better options available.

| Is there such a thing as a pay as you play deal nowadays? I have heard it mentioned a few times on here with relation to an older or slightly injury prone player, but how can you make sure you are spending within your budget/salary cap when you don't know how many times you are going to pay someone??

| You get basic and then appearance money on top. Quite simply if someone is getting more money from the club and it can't afford it, they could choose not to play them so are only paying basic.
