Quote Uptoncat="Uptoncat"I've had enough. Tomorrow will be my last game as it stands now. Got a season ticket for next year but I can't be bothered. Ted: kept us going years but ultimately put family first towards end of tenure. Glover: promised so much started to deliver then ultimately failed big time not keeping an eye on things. Carter: sold smith which admittedly was a must. Said he'd try to raise funds before selling anymore player but now I hear aiton kirmo and amor have gone. Possibly Collis too. Seems to me like its another one who says one thing but then does the opposite. At least have the decency to tell us your true intentions daddy cool, if you want a fire sale to raise funds then fair dos but tell us that. I can't see Tuson coming now and I can't blame him. What next are we accepting a parachute payment to go down at the end of the season (which is what I've heard we've been offered) if so that really could spell the end for wtw. It's been emotional and today is a sad day but I have lost all faith and belief in this once great club. As for elston. Twice he's been in place as CEO and twice we've been on the brink of collapse. He may well have saved the club but he's also nearly bankrupted us twice so for me he has got go and go completely.'"
WOW! 'I've heard a rumour - that's it, I'm off!'
Come on people, we've heard a million rumours and some are true - most are not.
James is back doing what he's best at - namely raising funds through bringing in investors and sponsors and via the community work and, more recently, the college stuff. He's the best man for that job and almost everything we have that is good is down to him to some degree.
To leave him as was would be wrong, to throw him out would also be wrong. The Chairman knows this and that is his call. If we don't trust the Chairman in this then what do we trust him in - and if that is the case why bother to try and save / rescue the club, let's just all forget it and walk away!
Being angry is natural, but how many of us get angry, kick off, then find out something that we didn't know which explains things differently and we feel foolish for doing so?
James was CEO under Ted, but not for very long and we were in a state before he took over. In that time he brought Andrew to the table - and he has put a significant amount into the club. Since the takeover James has been instrumental in bringing the current board members to the table - hence we have people in place to pick up and run with it.
As for player departures and fire sales - I believe Michael when he says he doesn't want to sell, but ask which of the players have asked to leave - and on that basis, and with transfer fees on the table that can assist the club going forward, why would you not allow a deal to go through? It's a tough call either way and whilst it may appease us to keep a certain player, it may leave that player very unhappy!
In essence, kick-off if you like, but I think you are premature and without full knowledge - as most of us are just now - and any judgement you make should reflect that.
No-one is happy with the situation, some of us are trying to help matters and we need you, when you have calmed down, and many more passionate fans like you with us!
